And this is the problem. You know the work model is flawed, but you accept it anyway can clown anyone who speaks out against it.

I wasted most of my 20’s working 9-5 gigs. And as my salary increased in my 30’s I was working even more hours. Now you could make 70 - 90k but you’re working so many hours that you can’t enjoy it.
All the while u are bringing in anywhere from 10 to 100 times that much and beyond for the people at the top while they sit on their ass and look/talk down on u like a dog. And if that isnt disgusting enough, their golfing buddies in congress have the audacity to snatch a third or more of that money back right off the top before u ever even see it, while making sweetheart deals to shield these exploitive hucksters from paying their own fair share.

Then tell u to suck it up, pull urself up by those bootstraps, stop being soft, anybody could do ur job etc.

Ok. Sure maybe most could do those jobs. But SHOULD they? This is what is scaring them, they dont want these kids pondering that question, because if they thought about it too hard, WOULD they?

And thats when u see fast food jobs jump to 20 dollars an hour after remaining stagnant for like damn near 30 years :mjlol:

Im with these kids. They may be soft as baby shyt, that is debatable. But they clearly arent stupid. Let folks stops flipping their burgers, pumping their gas, and stocking their grocery shelves, and see how fast the juelzing starts as that anybody could do ur job bullshyt flies right out the window :umad:

How many years ago was that breh. You're from the UK so I know you're talking about pounds. You also come across like someone who is circling 40.

Speculation skilled, 25k a year pre recession, in the UK is nothing to scoff at. Outside of London, that amount is still ahead of entry level positions.

Breh im from Canada that’s like 15,000 pounds back in 2006

You earn 23k in the UK working in a Levi's store. 25k is an entry level position for somebody who is semi skilled and not enough to live off in this climate.

Breh come to NYC and this place is saturated with bitçhes (young and older) who think that Sex and the City is their 10 Crack Commandments instead of a damn show.

They think it’s a feasible reality to be a basic bítch with zero remarkable talent, average looks, no generational wealth — yet it’s supposed to be happy hour 3x a week, trips, an apt in the village and multiple dudes tripping over themselves for a date

LMFAO I'm HOWLING :russ:

Hold this rep :salute:

Love my schedule as a firefighter. I work 9, 24 hour shifts a month :blessed:

I don’t have to request time off :wow:

If I don’t want to work a specific day I just trade a day with another firefighter at my station on a different shift :obama:

I'm assuming you probably actually enjoy your work and feel satisfied doing it....that matters 2.

I could never go back to working an un fulfilling job :picard:

I have no complaints about my job and am paid handsomely but like I'm sure others have said shyt isn't just gonna fall in your lap. Took a minute to get the pay I wanted but I buckled down, made sacrifices, and did the work. What I do recognize about these younger people is that they want instant gratification and want everything to happen immediately without working for it or giving up something in order to reach a goal. You gonna have to get shyt pay when first starting out and might lose a few friends on the way but you have to realize what's more important, hanging out with friends having a social media lifestyle or going to work with a plan.
Sounds like this is her first professional job and her parents took away the trust fun. She sounds like a petulant child whining IMO but hey it could all be a skit and this is just a huge waste of time.

I love my job, I honestly enjoy going to work.

I worked various 9-5s, they were terrible and everyone hated it. Only people who seemed happy were the upper administration who made the big bucks.

People like Ed Boon and John Tobias worked 20 hour work days consistently at Midway.

That's because they WANTED to make Mortal Kombat.

Beyonce worked 3 days straight once because she WANTED to shoot a movie.

You can hear about the day and night grind Bill Gates had when creating Microsoft Windows.

Bosses expect the same mentality from employees but most employees don't CARE about telecom or enterprise crap or whatever they're selling, they just want the paycheck.

Enormous difference.

I'm sure many of us here had put some insane amount of time to something but it felt easy to do so because we wanted to make something happen or learn a skill. We know the feeling of really going after something. So it's when you go to the job and just shut down - it basically means you're no longer working for yourself or it's not what you expect anymore.

This is an interesting point because a lot of these 'nerd' companies (video game publishers, anime studios, VFX studios, even pro wrestling companies) will intentionally hire fans, because they know those people have made their fandoms their entire personality. They will overwork and underpay them and expect them to take it because they're working on their 'passion,' even though they will never see even 1/10 of the money or fame of an Ed Boon.

Burnout is also very high in these industries, but the turnover is also very high because there's always another group of nerds willing to do more work for less pay and benefits.

People calling her lazy and soft for realizing that people shouldn’t be working all damn day from 9-5. Life shouldn’t be just working for another MF all day everyday and never having time to do anything for yourself. That’s how these corporations want it though so we can be slaves for them while never having enough energy to do anything else, but work for them and you stupid MF are blaming her for being “lazy” I swear these billionaires done brainwashed the shyt out of y’all
I think the real brainwashing came from colleges :yeshrug: Like you have to go there and give them all this money to get this paper saying you’re done with it just to get to the 9-5. The 9-5 really is better than going to college to be able to sit in that office or whatever you do after finishing. People don’t talk about that enough though.
