You have rights everywhere on us soil and that includes personal property. :gucci:

If someone is fired they still have a right to their personal belongings. If the company is worried about theft they can have that person escorted to where their belongings are and off of the premises

I’ve worked at places where once you are terminated they escort you out immediately and will mail you your shyt. Another spot would pack it up and you had to pick it up at security.

I have personal property at work locations across the country. You think if I’m fired I can waltz into those buildings at a later date and get my shyt?

Clearly the way that it should have been done is that one of the two guys restrains her, while the other guy thoroughly checks her bag and jacket linings to see what else she may have stashed. After that's done, you hand her back her stuff.

Take it from a former security supervisor...

You just opened yourself & the company for litigation. You're just a barista, why are you restraining a person & conducting a search of personal property? The company would've threw everyone under the bus immediately
