What’s the point of people getting it on Xbox one and PC when they won’t have access to Shenmue 3. It’s kind of like grabbing and squeezing on a phat ass and then pulling your dikk out to go to town only to realise sex wasn’t part of the equation.
Shenmue 3 will at least be on XBOX digitally.
PS4 is getting a physical and digital release.

Are you sure about that? Didn’t Sony invest in Shenmue 3 so why would they allowe their competition to have it.
I 100% expect it to be a timed exclusivity deal, and could have sworn it was confirmed as such before in the official thread for part 3.
The funding of Shenmue 3 was part crowdfunded and part Sony. I haven't seen mention of how much money Sony actually put up but I can't imagine it was a lot considering the game is still shipping essentially as an indie.
IMO the game makes more sense on XBOX than it does on PS4 considering how they kept the series alive with the OG XBOX, but that alone doesn't mean anything.
I hope it doesn't ultimately end up as a PS4 console exclusive. This game is already getting pumped up way more than it deserves by the :flabbynsick: gamers. I can't imagine how much more it would get pumped up if it was only on PS4. :scust:

:mjlol:Breh this is a bargain bin purchase for me, and I am someone that owned the original on the Dreamcast but can take the nostalgia Google’s off. I will also pick up the remaster on Black Friday or something.

You're in the minority then. Most people that have heard me make comments about this game being :flabbynsick: as hell have given me the :camby:treatment.
I still have original copies of both games. My Shenmue 1 copy is in mint condition with the passport disc and everything still.
I LOVED this game as a kid, but I have seen how far gaming has come and knew that those controls, the pacing, camera angles, etc. were going to feel dated as hell and not hold up today.
These are the same reasons I'm skeptical about Shenmue 3. I think people don't care about this game as much as they claim they do, especially considering Yakuza is an improved version of this type of game and not many people even talk about it.

If 3 is not on the level of 1 and 2 I really don’t want 3 to be made. In my opinion, I believe it will ruin the game and the lore.

:DAIGOSCUST:Fixed for accuracy.
Whether ya'll like it or not, Shenmue 3 is competing with Yakuza 6, so that's the game it needs to blow out of the water for me to genuinely care about it outside of some minor nostalgia.

I'm still having fun with this one. It's a peaceful and immersing experience.

Controls are manageable if you stop trying to use them as you would a modern 3D game. Use L to walk/run and the dpad to turn. Down turns you straight around. Use R to look at things and select different items.

Beyond that the game holds up really well. The combat is still very fun and unique for an RPG game like this. The slice of life gameplay is something that still has yet to be outdone.

Going back to play this, and other classic games from the time, this one holds up with the best of them.

Y'all in here hating on a GOAT. Go play your movie games that do everything for you:camby:

You've now typed Yakuza about a dozen times in this thread. Go to the Yakuza thread, nobody care about that trash:camby:

Yakuza is in its own lane. I'd say outside of story cutscenes once you have control of Kiryu everything is over the top and super video game-y, which is the big charm of the gameplay. Shenmue doesnt do that at all, and instead tries for hyper immersion.

Thing is when people say dated, I think games like Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, not Shenmue. Its actually kind of ridiculous how good this game looks visually in 2018.
