Shout out to @Lord Bison for negging my last post :salute: now watch me work...

I bought Shenmue 2, had to get the euro version because it wasn't released in America :yeshrug:

I recall not liking it as much as the first, didn't even finish it. I don't know if it was the game or maybe my system died? I just remember Not being impressed.

So... I expect nostalgia at first. Then by the time people get to part 2 I expect most posters to be like fukk SHENMUE :pacspit:

I hope I'm wrong, gut says I'm not tho...
Why do you keep saying this?
It came out for the OG XBOX in america.

Bruh, if you ain't liked Shenmue when you first played it, chances are, this and nothing else will make you change your mind.

Don't try and jump on the nostalgia bandwagon that me and so many other people are fondly pushing along the tracks, 'cause to keep it a buck, the game can be boring as hell, especially when you stuck looking for the next narrative piece to forward the story and you just dealing with outdated faces and barely passable voice acting.

With that being said, the minute I get Space Harrier for the Saturn, that's it.:blessed:

Who got the 2018 tech on what moves are best for training in the warehouse or wherever the hell you can pracitce???

I remember back in the day the regular standing kick was important to level up early, that one thats similar to a Tekken standing 4, and the roundhouse....which I guess I'd again compare to a forward 4 in Tekken :lolbron:

Still have never played 2...was so disgusted at the bullshyt ending of the first one

And that long depressing walk back and forth from sleeping every night back into the city turned into a chore after a while..

So I have no reason why I’m copping this...but I am :wow:
uhhh to play pt two and knowing that u still cant put hands on Lan Di :troll:

I didn't even know this shyt came out today lol. I just copped for $24 on Steam. It's essentially the only 4K version as the PS4/XB1X are only 1080P for some reason.

this looks dope! a must play game! how are the reviews and what are your thoughts on the remaster. is it worth buying this series? I know i would! it reminds me of the good old days when i used to load up Hitman 1 on PC and playing it for the first time.

I'm coppin off the strength of nostalgia but I'm fully expecting to play this entire game with the  face in comparison to the polish of Yakuza.
I'm pretty sure I was in middle school when Shenmue 1 came out for Dreamcast. I spent years anxious to kill Lan Di. Eventually, I stopped caring...and here we are today...and I can't say the feeling has been restored at all. We'll see if when I pick up the remaster it changes my mind at all.

It's aged a lot better than you might think. Shenmue II is by far the better game. If your only impression of the series is the first game then you might want to just skip straight to II. It's a better well designed game than part I and is MUCH MUCH larger in scope.

Although with the ability now to transfer game saves from I to II, I'd highly advise to use the time in I(if you decide to play it) to grind and train up your moves as you won't have much time to do it if at all in II.

I've played both games and liked them both when they came out....it's been so long that I stopped caring (at least as much as I used to....I was really obsessed with this game when it came out. I still have my original copies in mint condition).
I also feel like the series is going to feel very dated in comparison to modern games....and Im not too excited about the idea of playing a game that requires you to play several full length games to get the whole story. I don't have that kind of time or patience anymore.
