I’d like a 64 team playoff like the ncaa march madness. They play every other day :russ:

If that doesn’t tell you who the best team is then I don’t know what will

I dont follow the conferences too closely.

But shouldn't there be conference bowls then the winners of the major conference bowls go to the playoff and like two spots to teams deemed worthy (Notre Dame etc. )

The systems been flawed every year tho bro, TCU and Baylor were fantastic teams that were kept out, PSU looked better than OSU and was kept out last year, OSU looks better than Alabama and was kept out

Every season game counts. That's why it's a four-game playoff. PSU shouldn't have lost to Pitt and same goes for Ohio State and Iowa. FOH with the "looks", beat the teams on your schedule.

TCU and Baylor were screwed by Big 12 reluctance naming a conference champion.

no i think osu getting in made sense. they had away wins against ranked wisconsin, oklahoma, a win against a #2 michigan. also their loss to penn state wasnt awful like penn states loss to michigan

There has never been a CFB season where more than 4 teams deserved a shot at the chip

I wanna see maybe the late 80s/early 90s were the years you could make a case for 5 or 6 but the majority of the powerhouses were all independents and usually played head to head those seasons anyways.

Notre Dame
Miami
Florida State
Penn State
West Virginia
Pittsburgh

Big 8 was Nebraska Oklahoma or Colorado
SEC was Tennessee Auburn and Alabama
Pac 10 was USC and Washington
Big Ten was Michigan
Southwest conference was weakest out of bunch but you'd get a Texas or Texas A&M every now and then.
ACC Clemson Virginia Georgia Tech wasn't really much of a football conference.

6-8 teams is way too much and waters down season even more all the rivalry games will really become meaningless.

If you want an 8 team playoff that would require something that will never happen.

The power 5 conferences need to be shaved down to create 8 power conferences.

Shorten the regular season to 10 to 11 games tops and get rid of conference titles.

Whoever wins the conference gets in.

Yeah conference title games need to be bushed and you pretty much kill off OOC games and play straight up conference schedule. It will never happen

Conference winners would also eliminate a fukking committee that doesn't even have a protocol to go by.

They picked Alabama to go and some probably decided that if they only lost one game they were going no matter what.

Playoffs shouldn't be decided by how many games a person watches. If that's the case they should've just used the old bcs algorithms or the ap/coaches poll average.

Yeah I don't like how they killed off the computers that was more fair than a bunch of old cronies playing round of golf and sitting in boardroom for an hour winging it.

Every game doesn’t matter. That’s been obvious since 2012 BCS title game and reason why ESPN even went away from the slogan. Rings true af with this flaky ass committee making selections and their criteria changing by the week

I just wish they get rid of the favoritism. shyt, there were some non-ranked schools who should've been in the playoffs, but weren't because they didn't have the athletic resources or endowment.

Every season game obviously doesn’t count though :dame: Clemson was #1 with probably the worst loss out of all the top 4, OSU was outside the top 4 with a better set of wins than any of em. So no, every season game doesn’t matter, and hasn’t mattered with the vivid favoritism towards 3 programs that has been shown since the inception.
