idk about in uk, but i think in america the first couple times you get caught driving drunk they let you do an alcohol treatment program. You pass and they drop the charges.

I actually agree with this, its totally illogical the way its setup, you KNOW if you drink to much and go driving pass out at the wheel or get caught or kill someone its 100 percent your fault. However if you get drunk fool around with someone regret the choice in the morning its the other person fault for not doing the right thing morally.
I wish moral obligation came into play for other crimes and acts too, the world would probably be a better place

how can it be a crime when being drunk affects your decision making so much that you cant even consent to having sex while drunk. how can you possibly make a decision on whether to drive or not when you are drunk? alcohol impairs your decision making. when women have sex when they are drunk its called rape. when a man drives a car while drunk its a crime. how does that possibly make sense to you?
