Robe honest, the officer route is cool for any branch. It's just the job you choose that'll get you fukked up. The Air Force is great but get hung up on it. You can go reserve officer and the try to switch over. Or go enlisted an then try to office(really don't recommend it). Or just join another branch. Was thinking about the officer route since i'm in school right now, but I heard the air force will only fukk with you if you did ROTC in college
I'm like a year and a half from graduating and wanna know if there's any possibility of still going the officer route
Bro, you're thinking of GSC. Space command bases are the shyt. They're all in CO. Thule sucks but the rest of them are awesome.
Really? I'll be forth right: I'm a white dude, but I always felt the military gives minorities a better handshake then a lot of the private sector. A lot of the officers and NCOs that mentor me are minorities. I'd be lost without em honestly. What branch you in? Maybe it varies from base to base or AFSC to AFSC?
I'm a butter bar bro we don't have any powerThe officer route is definitely a strong option though. The pay is good. OP, message me with any questions you have about the USAF. There's nothing wrong with enlisting, but don't write off the officer route.
I get it dude...as a white officer, I'm probably going through a radically different experience then what you did. I can also tell you I salute black officers every day. If you had folks who practiced cism during your service, I'm sorry, they're scum. I hope you reported their asses to the IG.I must have stopped getting updates from the thread. Anyways, before I continue, likely if somebody asks me about the military, I'm not gonna sugar coat any info that I give, its all based on my experience and what I've noticed as a black man, so if you take offense to any of it, I'm not sorry. Actually, nah forget i said anything im gonna let the thread cook without me

One thing I will say is that, the racism was subtle. I was asked why do we have an MLK day and when Trayvon became a topic of discussion NCOs of the lighter complexion readily threw the mass black incarceration rate in my face. Favoritism towards white subordinates happened and the questioning of our culture also occurred.I get it dude...as a white officer, I'm probably going through a radically different experience then what you did. Well damn friend, I was just saying I saw less racism here than I did other places I worked. Not saying it doesn't exist, I just may not always be there to see it. If anyone in my shop ever experiences racism, subtle or otherwise, I will put a stop to it. O1 or O10.Yeah it unfortunate butter bars still don't know shyt. But the thing is, with all do respect, it usually the NCO you have to watch. Most are white and from the south/midwest that are conserative christians. Nobody says shyt in front of officer, scared of going outside of the chain of command. Banishing muslims is common.Well damn friend, I was just saying I saw less racism here than I did other places I worked. Not saying it doesn't exist, I just may not always be there to see it.
