I agree it gets difficult when it comes to players you didn't see or didn't see a lot of their career. However, for someone like Sharpe that was a three time FIRST-TEAM all-pro at a valuable position, was a three time receptions leader, and two time receiving TD leader, that should say enough.

With the elections of Tony Boseli, Terrel Davis, Kurt Warner, and now Sterling sharpe we are now seeing a clear shift in the last 10 or so years where voters are valuing peak play over just really good longevity.
Not just like these guys were just accumulators either, Boselli was as good as Ogden and Walter Jones, Warner blew right past mvp Favre/Young numbers, Sharpe was better than tons of late 80s-90s hof receivers for multiple seasons.
