I doubt it, they've had luck the last two drafts in retaining their picks, can't see that luck holding up for a third time straight.
LA would have to pick 6th or worse.

If LA loses their pick, it's gonna be earmarked for Kris Dunn unless they can trick another team into giving them a third top 10 pick

Nah fam, this year the protection has gone to top 3 only, I believe the last two years it's been top 5.

It's top 3 protected in 2017, and unprotected in 2018.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Explain this "reward." There's no reward for losing. NONE. It's never ever worth it.

The irony is that if your goal is to win an NBA title, winning the lottery is the last thing you wanna do, because here's the list of lottery players drafted #1 who won a title with the team who drafted them:

David Robinson
Tim Duncan.

That's the list and they had to do it together.

You gotta stop with the fake outrage though. If this wasn't Philly, you wouldn't care.

The Spurs got rewarded for injuries decemating their roster and drafted Duncan. The Cavs got rewarded with Lebron. But I think the lottery is also rigged but that's another thread.

The 76ers aren't trying to build a winning product. You can tell by looking at their roster. They basically have a summer league squad. No real veteran presence. They traded away thier rookie of the year and never even tried to develop him. They act like they don't know what they're doing. Drafting Okafor is easy. But thei two picks before that ensured they were not going to come close to winning. They have no identity. It's a constant continuation of the preseason.

Teams like the Wolves and Kings have been bad for 10+ years now and consistently in the lottery but no flack is ever given to them. Only when the Sixers are bad for 3 years is when its a problem.
It's encouraged.

They're still picking Dunn.

If Dunn ain't a Sixer, God help them.

Their bench ain't shyt, but when you have a shyt ton of incoming picks, all you really want are placeholders. Covington is a nice find. Okafor and Noel, they have something there. Upgrade the backcourt and you're golden and they should be able to do that this summer. Embiid was high risk high reward. Hasn't and won't pan out, but hard to blame them for it.

and truth be told, trading MCW for LA's pick this summer is a win for Philly. They traded a Syracuse basketball player for an upgrade 2 years later. All while this is happening, they're learning the hardest thing to learn: defense at the NBA level. When they're fully developed they will be devastating defensively because that's a culture Brett Brown is instilling.

1. Murray's not a PG. They need that in a major way.

2. Dunn wouldn't prevent them from taking Murray.

C Okafor
PF Noel
SF Covington
SG Murray
PG Dunn

Someone is going to take Murray and play him at PG, that's 3 guys in one lineup that aren't great shooters, spacing would be a mess.

Dunn's defensive potential is what makes me :whoo:

Defensive potential no doubt, but you can't have Okafor, Saric and Noel with a PG that can't make the 3 at a high percentage.

Sadly, the Nerlens / Okafor team is more fun to watch than any Sixer team featuring Iguodala. Obviously you wish you could get MCW back, and have hit on Embiid, but this is better than what we got for years after the departure of AI.

It wouldn't be a bold move if people didn't question it. Mind you, we do play defense.

Knicks make one good draft pick after years of being a joke and people wanna talk crap on the Sixers for blowing it up?

Forget that crap, Cleveland should be a dynasty, getting LeBron, then all those #1 overalls, and then getting LeBron back. They suck.

Sixers have a plan.

Honestly, all they need is a couple of veterans. Getting rid of MCW wouldn't look so bad if they signed someone to replace him like a Reggie Jackson type player. It's hard to build a winning team if none of the players been on a winning team. Landry is the only one and he's not their best player.. not even close. Stockpiling nothing but young players is a formula for failure. How do they expect these young players to want to reup with them if they keep losing?
