Great article.

I'm really surprised that it didn't talk more about the impact Ray's shot had on Lebron's legacy. Bron pulled a Romo in the final two minutes, and Ray saved him.

I'm biased because I'm a Heat fan but I think it's probably the greatest shot in NBA history, when you take everything into account.
First off, the backpedal to get behind the line without ever looking down to make sure was:ohlawd:
Then getting balanced and hitting the shot :whew:

And then you think about everything that was at stake and what the fallout would've been for the team if it hadn't gone in. But it did :blessed: :myman:

Yeah, stuff like that happens only to the Wizards or something. I couldn't believe Pop didn't have Duncan in who had 30 and 17 in that game and was about to get that 4th finals MVP right there and then.

The media still loves recounting Game 6 whenever the Spurs are mentioned. If SA would have held on and got one more rebound or made one more free throw, this game wouldn't get as much hype... and it would have been glossed over.

You don't see how the furious, exciting ending changed things? :heh: Of course it wouldn't get as much hype if it ended like 99% of games like that usually end.

That game was tremendous theatre :whew:. Bron's rep was dangling in the balance. You had people rooting for failure. You had people rooting for him. You had people who were :lupe: "What's gonna happen?". This is why we watch. :to: :wow:. I personally can't remember another NBA game with those kind of stakes that ended like that.

For all the people taking issue with Duncan being taken out and Hibbert, that is a huge part of the Heat strategy. You surround Bron with guys that can shoot and you force teams to make difficult decisions. Bron is gonna break the defense down. He's gonna get to the hole. He's gonna find and get it to the open guy. The reality is George fukked up and even if Hibbert had been in the game he likely wouldn't have been able to come off Bosh (20 feet away from the basket) in time and the rebound just happened to bounce Bosh's way in Game 6, they got what they wanted on that play (a Lebron miss).
