Yeah, stuff like that happens only to the Wizards or something. I couldn't believe Pop didn't have Duncan in who had 30 and 17 in that game and was about to get that 4th finals MVP right there and then.

The media still loves recounting Game 6 whenever the Spurs are mentioned. If SA would have held on and got one more rebound or made one more free throw, this game wouldn't get as much hype... and it would have been glossed over.

the audacity of these dudes in here :aicmon:

im waiting to see if somebody in here gone keep it a hunned

Ummm....but it's those mistakes and the Heat seizing it that gives this game hype.

I don't get this point here....

It's as if you're saying that the game isn't deserving of the hype its warranted based on how things could have played out. :what:

If it was the Spurs down by 5 with 30 left and they won the 'ship in that fashion, I doubt the media would still be glowing about it.

Of course they wouldn't...THAT scenario doesn't draw interest around the game. How the game played out in real life DOES warrant the interest it receives. I don't get your point.

Because if the Spurs "possibly" did do their job, this game shouldn't be viewed as one of the greatest??

:mindblown:

People forget Lebron's 3 before Ray's.

Tony Parker was hitting every ridiculous thing he threw up

That last 3 in LeBron's grill that put them up 5 was a HORRIBLE shot and couldn't believe it actually went in... I was thinking they would hold it a little bit

The Spurs are boring, remember?
Dog....any game that is won on free throws and nailed the game with 30 seconds left wouldn't be celebrated.

This has nothing to do with the Spurs being boring. Them missing FT made this GAME one of the GOAT.

Right.

Anyway, I agree its one of the greatest games in NBA history... I mean, there's so much that happened in it outside of the 30 seconds the Spurs choked.

Yeah man. From the "headband" to the end of the game, I feel blessed having watched it.

I really felt for LeBron when SA had that lead and he took the headband off... It looked like he was about to tear up as he was seeing the Dallas series all over again. :wow:

Tim Duncan at 37 still doing what he does and putting up two huge games in 6 and 7 after that was just legendary. I also kind of wanted him to get #5 so all of the Kobe stans in here would shut up.

Yeah, you are right there. Wade coming back in was not an option. Not saying Wade or Spoelstra can be blamed for it, just saying that it killed the flow.

But you also might be right that the run had already possibly ended before Wade had re-entered. Emotions were high at the time, would need another rewatch to say whether I agree or not.

Either way, it just bugs me when people have to mention Lebron's missed 3's and how Ray saved them when in reality Lebron's entire 4th quarter is what truly saved them. It was bully basketball and was great to watch. And One-Nike-Mike's 3 pointer can't be ignored either, that was just as important as Lebron's dominance in establishing a change in momentum.

Nah you're right. I was actually yelling at my TV because I was annoyed at Spoelstra for bringing Dwyane back in. The entire defensive philosophy shifted because no Wade meant LeBron could finally attack the basket and be able to kick it out to shooters if he wanted to. Wade can't spread the floor and open the lanes up.

Soon as Wade was brought in it fukked the entire flow up. Great coaches have to put player egos aside and make the right basketball decision. It's random, but it reminds me of two seasons ago during a Bulls - Heat game where Thibs benched Rose because CJ Watson was the hot hand. He didn't play at all in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter or overtime and the Bulls game back because Watson, Rose's substitute, was frankly outplaying him although he may not have been the "best" player on the floor any other night.

Great coaches put collective victory over satisfying thee go of an individual. It was moments like that where it exposed that although Spoelstra isn't a horrible coach, it was a major lapse that could've cost miami that game.
