Okafor is below average now:why:

he had the worst plus minus on the 6ers meaning they were better with him off the court than on the court compared to literally everyone on the squad. Also one of the worst defensive players in the league and a below average rebounder (6th on his own trash squad in RB%). Basically he could score but not even all that efficiently as he was 5th on his own squad in TS%. So yea, he's a below average NBA player in pretty much every way you look at it at this point

They have Okafour and Embiid. What they need to do is try to trade Noel for another shooter or PG.
2 guys that have yet to show they're even average NBA players. Not saying you toss out all young guys but you don't pass on a potential all star because you've got some unproven guys on the roster. Talent matters way more than fit which is why you're seeing squads like OKC winning even though their pieces don't fit together ideally

I just don't see it with Simmons. At all. I think Ingram can make an impact day 1

If they were smart they would take Simmons and start building around him immediately. Okafor and Noel are expendable if Embiid can play. Okafor is expendable in any scenario. Try to trade him for a point guard and take Ulis later in the 1st round,

What makes simmons more of a star than Ingram? Ingram can be the next KG and Simmons can be the next Lamar Odom. We dont know that for sure because Simmons didnt light the college world on fire when he was there. KG did, and Lebron would have. Embiid was a beast in college along with Okafour. What makes Simmons potential better than them?

I already said I'm not sold on either of them. I agree that Simmons looks like Odom. Don't think Ingram is anything like KG other than being long and skinny. Personally I don't think Ingram is a good enough athlete to be much more than a tall shooter. He can handle it a bit but he's not explosive enough to get by NBA defenders on the regular IMO. I think he can be a really good #2 scorer but not a main option for a good team. I think Simmons has the physical tools to be a star should he develop a J.

Thats why you draft Ingram. He can be a #2 that would work with Embiid who has more potential than all of them. If Embiid is never again healthy, they have Okafor who would also need a shooter to open the post for him.:yeshrug:we just agree to disagree..i just think that there are no stars in this draft.

So you draft a guy because he's a better fit to be #2 to a guy that hasn't proven squat yet? :why:

Naw man. You pick the guy who you feel has the best chance to be a star/ the guy with the most talent. Your team may look completely different in 5 years when these guys begin to enter their primes. You don't pass on a star for a better fit. If they think Ingram is the better prospect then they should take him. If they don't, they shouldn't. I'm not making a complicated point here.

:yeshrug: I dont think Ingram & Simmons are far off in talent. Ingram skillset is much more desirable to a team full of big men that lives in the post.

It's not about fit or need. For 10 win team, you consider everyone on that roster bad. That includes Okafor. There's no building around anybody on a 10 win team. You rebuild with a new player.

Cats want to talk about Embiid, this and Embiid that, but breh hasn't played a single possession yet and has more question marks than either of these guys.

Just had to get all that out there.

I think they should take Simmons. Because if dude goes to the Lakers and takes over the league, they'd look incredibly bad. I think Simmons has that crowd-pleasing playing style that can put fans in the seats. Kind of like what Blake Griffin did for Lob City.

That said, I do think Ingram is better though. But can't go wrong with either.
