That's exactly what I'm saying as the optics would look better of her staying at home knowing her heart wasn't into instead of essentially quitting on your teammates. She spoke about her mental and physical health before the Olympics even started, so why go and participate knowing that your heart wasn't into doing so?

People using those quotes and excuses for her are essentially supporting the argument that she shouldn't have went in the first place. I'd say the same thing about Osaka who shouldn't have went to the Olympics herself as you can by her comments that she only did so out of the obligations. The Olympics aren't an obligation to participate especially for someone like Biles whose legacy was going to be set regardless of whether she participated or not.

If she didn't want to go, then she wouldn't have went. There's nothing wrong or nefarious with that comment. We tell people all the time to not do something if their heart isn't into it, so I don't feel bad about making that comment towards her.
