So Simone with her “heart” not being in it for months is still BETTER than everyone else who went for the same opportunity and spot. Meaning she ain’t take shyt from nobody because NOBODY could take it from her. If you want to be the best you have to BEAT the best. This ain’t the boyscouts where being a moral oral is celebrated. This is COMPETITION and if you’re telling me nobody could beat a halfway-there-mentally Simone Biles for a spot in COMPETITIVE sports then THEY didn’t deserve it point blank period.

I have no problems with debating whether or not the optics of her quitting NOW is “wrong” or deserving of criticism. But people saying she should of thought of her COMPETITION on some “I’ll just let these chicks who couldn’t beat me on their best day have a spot because…morals” is stupid as fukk

Breh....... you're literally sitting here saying forget her mental health issues and what she's dealing with. She should should have competed anyways even if her heart into it because she's still better than everyone else around her :dwillhuh:

She literally talked about before the Olympics how brutal it was on her mind and body and therefore she was ready to get it over with. That's literally a sign that her heart wasn't into it and she literally only did it out of the expectations and obligations that come from participating in the Olympics :mindblown:

If one of your kids flat out told you that their heart wasn't into doing something that wasn't an obligation (sports related), are you going to tell them to suck it up and do it anyways or let them know that it's okay and that they don't have to go through with it?

There's no other great gymnasts for the U.S. anyway that didn't make the trip... Jordan and Suni are good and the two white girls are ok. Nobody else deserves to be there just because.

If Simone's heart wasn't into participating in this year's Olympics (it's obvious she wasn't), then she shouldn't have had to feel obligated to compete and go just because she was the best chance at the US winning Gold.

That's literally my entire point.

I couldn’t imagine playing for the same national team that sexually assaulted you when you were younger, no matter if the people who did it are still there or not. The Adults on the US Gymnastics team failed her, and every single one of those victims.

If she wants to say fukk em, then let her do just that :yeshrug: this new generation is not taking anyone’s shyt. You may hate them for it, but if you were in that situation, and it’s your own mental health over others, I bet you’d choose yourself everytime. Not everyone has the willpower to fight through anxiety/dangerous/suicidal thoughts like Phelps did, and he said it himself that it almost ended his life.

She has literally ZERO to prove to anyone, she’s doing shyt that no other woman has ever done before, she’s established as the GOAT, fukk ya feelings if you think otherwise

No

I’m saying that the argument that she SHOULDN’T have competed because she “took” someone else’s spot is bullshyt.

If MY theoretical child was the absolute BEST at her sport and was talking about how much pressure she was under mentally, I would council her to heed her gut instinct on the matter because mental health is nothing to take lightly. But the LAST thing i’d be telling her regarding the decision is to consider other, lessor athletes who she’s already better than. fukk them.

If she decided to ATTEMPT to tough it out and go and made it to a point where she just couldn’t carry on, i’d applaud her bravery in her attempting to try and also tell her that there is no shame in realizing that you reached a breaking point. At THIS point, after all the success that she has achieved, her competitive fire and spirit should speak for itself. There would NEVER be any utterance of me to her about “someone else’s spot or opportunity” because those “someone else’s” couldn’t BEAT her so they didn’t deserve to go to Tokyo. PERIOD

My nikka..... I literally said that she shouldn't have competed because her heart, mind and body weren't into it :dwillhuh:

She literally said that shyt before the Olympics yet still went anyways. If she didn't want to go, then she shouldn't have went and let someone else taken her spot instead. The fact that she was better than everyone else around here still doesn't change the fact that her heart wasn't into that shyt before she left.

If Naomi Osaka's heart wasn't into going to the Olympics, then she shouldn't have went in spite of the fact that she was her home country's potential best chance at winning gold in the tennis Olympics. It's the same fukkin situation.

Doug Gottlieb is trash, but he makes a decent point here

Lol imagine if lebron quit in the middle of the finals citing mental health

He's not wrong at all. We treat men and women differently when it comes to mentioning mental health issues while picking and choosing the stance to take.

Look at how different The Coli treats Naomi Osaka's mental health issues compared to Kevin Love's who The Coli loves to crack jokes about every chance that they get. Nikkas on here flat out told Kyrie to abide by the CBA he agreed to in talking to the media, but defend Naomi Osaka not wanting to talk to the media herself.

So was Phelps and he kept going

:yeshrug:

but either way hopefully the pressure being off helps her

She has 27 Gold Medals

WHAT THE fukk ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT

also did reporters bring up Michael Phelps been child molested to upset them?

What does Phelps have to do with any of this also, who cares

She doesn't have to prove anything to anyone, she has 27 metals, and will get some more in the individuals, its just the team event

She has them winning, they are lead because of her, so you telling the team is not good enough to win without her lmao

then maybe yall need to respect her some more

let KD pulled out of the Olympics right now because of mental health and see what happens

Reporters brought KD being molested as a child to upset him

She got 27 Gold Medals, she don't owe nobody shyt, she still can win all the gold medals as an individuals, this is just the TEAM

USA don't respect her anyway, so she should be selfish and go all the gold medals as an individual fukk a team
