Probably both, and people feel more comfortable saying they have mental health issues as they know they won't be as critically questioned nowadays. Not saying that is the situation here, but once someone says they are focusing on their mental healthy, people have to be as delicate as can be nowadays or they are made out to be some monster for questioning someone.

Notice how those mental health issues were never a problem or brought into the discussion all those years she was winning and had success.

brehs are really taking this mental illness reason to heart
the real reason is that she was the only one who was excelling in the games all the other gymnasts are not at her level
she would be carrying the whole team and that's way too much pressure for one person

That's not an excuse though as if they were doing well and performing this wouldn't be a topic of discussion.

We don't have to make up any excuses for her or the team. Just say that this isn't their year and there are other countries better than them. There's nothing wrong with admitting that. There doesn't have to be a complicated or major factors in someone losing or not performing well.

This is even a worse reason to quit, quitting cause you’re the best on your team and have to carry the load

We've literally seem athletes carry and will their team to victory all the time, but now it's an excuse for Biles :mjlol:

That's what GOAT athletes do.

In that case, she isn't the GOAT like people have hyped her up to be.
come on how someone placed 40th:russ:
it's like a school project where you're the one with all the research, planning and execution but then the guy who was only at class once gets the A with you. That would piss me off
this doesn't change my perception of her amazing talent.

You're literally comparing a school project to the Olympics :laff:

She's literally been hyped up at the GOAT by the masses all of these years. Mental issues have never been a problem when she's been winning and had success, so don't use them as an excuse now that she nor her team or performing well. It's disingenuous and makes a mockery of mental health issues in that you can't handle losing.

Like I said, this might not be the US Olympic teams year in gymnastics and that's totally okay :yeshrug:

Chalk it up as an L and try the next go around like other countries who lose will do.

Bad look, U can’t loudly proclaiming yourself the goat and go out like this.

Women want to be treated like men yet are quick to play the mental health card and complain about too much scrutiny when things get tough

Imagine the fukkery if Mahomes walked out midway through the first quarter of the super bowl cause he wasn’t feeling it after missing a couple throws :dead:

she's impressive and one of the best. Athletes are some of the most competitive people I'm sure it breaks them when they lose especially when it's from forces out of their control.
I think this is her last year not sure though

This. I don't think she really wanted to be there anyway, she was off her a game...but bless her for bringing Chiles into the cypher though. My goodness

I was watching the event she was in the other day, and she looked like she was on the verge of tears. I just thought it was the pressure of being a young g.o.a.t.
