Yet you had people in this thread calling the team outside of Biles trash.

This is cool, but if this is how it’s going to be going forward no fan should ever criticize any pro athlete ever again about anything. The only criticism of a pro athlete can come from another pro athlete. All fans should do going forward is watch and observe.
Yup. And people here keeping comparing her to people on team sports where you can rely on teammates to help and where being mentally off doesn't potentially cost you life long disability or death.Thinking about this more.
The United State cares about 3 events in the Summer Olympics, honestly:
However with Women's Gymnastics, there is this unhealthy 'tone' to it. Where it's not so much about the athletics, but having these Role Model/'Princess' vibes that the Country looks at these girls. Not to mention there has been a ton of abuse from the federation along with a ton of sacrifices from the athletes; mentally and physical.

I don't think Simone should've gone. I wouldn't be surprised though, a few years from now, we will start hearing how the United States Federation was pressuring her re-join. I do believe she is suffering from the 'twisties' as she says, but I do think that she has voices speaking to her behind the scenes in which the United States has to win despite not having a better all around team.

Exactly. It's comical at this point. This forum is something else. Y’all complain about racist cacs all day yet repeat their same exact talking points without a hint of irony or awareness
Nope. She wasn't hitting her moves with the precision needed. A slip up can be life threateningShe chose not to participate because the judges are unfair. She literally has 4 moves that no one else in the world can perform. And the judges wont acknowledge it because they think its unfair to the "white" athletes.
More than likely it's USA Gymnastics that forced her to go.She didn't have to go though or participate in any of the Olympics that she did. She wanted the bread, money and glory that comes from performing at the Olympics and chose to go even when it was obvious that she wasn't into doing so.
The Olympics aren't an obligation regardless of how people try and spin it. Hell sports in general aren't an obligation regardless of the money that comes from it![]()

Nah, Biles got more clout from this stunt alone than she did from her last 9 year of dominance. And now Sunni Lee took her spot light
She is going to regret this
Yes she felt the pressure to compete despite her not really feeling it. I don't think anyone defending her are overlooking that.Even then, she still wasn't obligated to go.........
USA Gymnastics more than likely forced her to go, but let's also not overlook the aspect that the media and fans played a part in her feeling obligated to go as well. The same people defending her are the same ones who overlooked her mental state and comments about not wanting to go in the first place.
