That shyt comical but honestly tho, a single woman with a one year old child don’t raise no warning signs? Was she single while pregnant? Shortly after pregnancy? Both of those would suggest bad judgment skills...did she think she can make dude stay by having his baby? Was that shyt a once night stand? Or was the nikka a coward who ran out on his responsibility? There’s too many questions that we just don’t know the answer to...maybe he does

Ok... hold up bro...It's that time again! Time for actual facts about single mothers in the blk community so that a$$holes don't use lies and stereotypes to shyt on and dismiss any blk female single mother, time!

1.) How many Single parent homes are there in the U. S.?
There are 12 million single parent homes in the U.S. based off Census data and estimates. (These estimates are generally considered accurate b/c they are also tied to benefits---another stereotype associated with single moms)
80% of those 12 million homes are female led.
80% of 12 million = 9.6 million female led single homes and 2.4 million male led single homes.
2.) Okay, so how many of those 9.6 million female led single parent homes are Black female led single parent homes?
Roughly 1/3 of the 9 million female led single parent homes are black females.
1/3 of 9 million equals roughly 3 million Black single mothers.
3.) "But wait, EVERY blk woman I meet is a single mom! It's GOTTA be more than that. Every time I go to Walmart I see..." "All the stats say 70% of black kids are born to OOW households. It's gotta be more than that!"
Nope. Media and stereotypes as well as confirmation bias has played a large role in fallaciously associating black females with single motherhood, even tho the majority of blk females are single and childless or had children within marriages.
Also due to the fact that these 3 million black single mothers are having more kids than married or other blk women, people naturally think that 70% of children being born must mean that 70% of black women at single moms. This is false. After all it doesn't take 70 women to have 70 kids. 20-25 women could easily have 70 kids if each female has an average of 2-4 children...which is exactly what happens. Those 3 million blk women across the U.S. are the baby boomers for most children born in our community, while the rest of blk women have less children or no children at all.
3.) Okay soooo even if there aren't that many single moms, they probably all on welfare or using the system, right?
No. Under half of those children live in poverty and only half of single mother households recieve food stamps.
For blk single mothers that's around 1.5 million.
4.) Well they gotta be probably fukking up some blk dude's wallet for child support, right?
Wrong. Only a small percentage of single moms recieve child support.
5.) Well they probably just all whores that fukked thugs and was just out there making babies, so fukk em.
Wrong again. Half of single moms or roughly 50% of them were married and got divorced. It seems like we are actually talking about a minority within a minority when it comes to stereotyping single mothers. Only half of an already small amount of single moms in the U.S. (Half of 9 million women) had their babies out of wedlock.
About 30% of them are divorcees and 20% are widowed.

So knowing these facts my question to the men is this: why are myths about single moms so pervasive, particularly with blk women? It's not like the facts aren't out there. I blame media and Reagan Era welfare queen propaganda. I dunno but u can check facts for urself here and stop using racist stereotypes to shyt on blk women.

The percentage of single black mothers out of the number of all black mothers is around 70%+... Thats fukking high as shyt aint it... And this is very believable..
And the percentage of black single parent households are at around 65%... the majority are run by black mothers.
And i read the article u posted.... it was definitely about the rise of single motherhood in general...
