You are posting issues that will be incredibly difficult to tackle because it is an asynchronous way of communicating. You will always have the opportunity to put your best foot forward before the others can see you and talk to you. We are all on our phones, but it will be virtually impossible to have a complete network with 1:1 matchups in real-time with current tech...you are looking at the possibility of having millions of people connect with each other via video feed on a dating site. I can't see that working right now.Yea, its ass. And tinders dime, in real life, can be a lemon. Bold in the profile, cold in person.
For instance, just speaking of me, im 5'7 184lbs. On a profile if i listed those stats, I'm fukking bushed. And i take, what i consider, awful photos. Like looking in the mirror, i have a slight idea what other people see, but pictures, angles emphasize my huge lips, nose, ears, whatever. A lady i might have came off quirky and cute in the grocery aisle will see a drow elf looking mothafukka on a dating app. I lose the advantage of witticism and charisma if i cant see them first. Same with women, posing and shyt, pretty face, next thing i know, in person she is 30+lbs heavier than i imagined, lacks fashion sense, and myspace angled the fukk outta her profile. I want what i saw in those pictures, a slimmer, confident, outgoing girl who "loves to laugh" but instead i get a slightly awkward chick who clearly used her best clothing for her profile pictures. Had i run into her during a college class or something, what i see would have been what i may have wanted, not the "best foot forward" approach she took which is the nature of dating apps and websites.
Plus the whole idea at that point will feel like one of those spots in where people meet up to chat with another (speed dating) and I don't think that will be an effective way to build a lasting relationship.
@houston911 please move this to TLR.

What if they have unusual work/sleep schedules? This is the definition of overthinking.
So which one is it?
