Yung LA-Futuristic Love

This shyt dropped the summer of 2009 right before I left for FSU. :blessed: Long story short, he was stylistically ahead of his time (Think Travis Porter, Roscoe Dash, Future, and others of that ilk.). If he waited 1-2 more summers to drop this as a singe. :wow: :banderas:

long story short: T.I. doesnt want anybody else shining on his label unless theyre some pop chit thats no threat to him. yet another page out of jay-z's playbook.

cant say it was before its time, cuz it couldve easily been a hit BACK THEN if pushed. but youre right. these new atlanta dudes is jockin yung la hard and not even doing it right. i didnt even realize it.

classic track. yea i said it.

hero from untitled

got to 97 on the billboard and that's about it

had catchy hook, modern(for the time) beat, and killer verses.

surprised it didn't blow up.

Fake Beyonce hook kinda irked me but it would have done better if they put more money behind it. You hear all these terrible Alicia Keys & Katy Perry anthem type songs all over the radio, no reason why the Nas joint shouldn't have blown. Maybe the label should have shelled out the dough for Beyonce or Alicia Keys, instead of using Keri Hilson.

they had plenty of money behind it.

it got crazy amounts of airplay, and keri hilson was hot at the time and is a better fit for the record than beyonce & alicia.

people just didnt take to it. theres really no excuse. it just failed. but for some reason, this is the main song being talked about in here.:mindblown:

Theres this Sigel song I been looking for for a minute and cannot find that shyt (cant remember the name)
I thought it was on one of them old Max Payne mixtapes but no bueno

The hooks like "time to get ya ass smacked bytches, where my flash that bytches, thongs up in ass crack bytches, dont get me wrong but I gotta get it on my bytches." Suntin like that
And hes like "im not for Kids like Gillie this shyt aint will smith silly."

The beat on that shyt was retarded
I used to knock that like crazy back in the day

It was on a mixtape on DatPiff. Cassidy vs. Beanie Sigel. Track is titled 'Time to Get'.

Keri Hilson is never a better fit for anything, not sure how you came up with that. Nobody follows her as an artist, people just like some of her songs. So she might have had a hot song, but she wasn't "hot". She's probably on the song simply because she has a good working relationship with the producer of the song.
