This is weird and seems sexist. Where's the discussion about fat Black men? Obesity is a Black COMMUNITY problem.

Slightly less than 70 percent of black men in the United States are either overweight or obese, the survey noted. In white men, that figure is 73 percent. And about 78 percent of Hispanic men are overweight or obese, the survey said.

Myself and my own.

Black women are literally the most obese group in America which, by itself would be a minor issue if it wasn't for the fact that it seems to be pushed as a positive in our community. This is compounded by the fact that obesity was medicalized into a health condition so even health experts see it as not only an issue, but one that is really concerning.
Also, I'm pretty sure black men are less obese than many other groups.

Here we go.

I think it stems from the fact that Black women are usually the target of the promotion of an obese lifestyle and unhealthy life choices, and outside of that, any community problems must be directed first and foremost to the women directly responsible for the health and well being of the children in the community.

Breh, be considerate. Don’t raise her already high blood pressure with facts.

Also, black men aren’t the face of “body positivity”. Fat brehs are not revered in the community. “Thick” women are.

I don't deny this, but NOBODY has a problem telling fat men they are fat. It's not a propaganda issue on black men's side regarding obesity. We know what it is and we know the lifestyle that comes with it and we know what it is available to us dating wise if we get obese.

You don't see fat black men splayed on billboards, Kendra G's show always got fat chicks demaing the man be in shape, men don't generally have that level of delusion

But let's follow your logic. If obese Black women are the majority and we have overwhelmingly single female -led parent homes in our community, then their eating habits are still being passed on and copied by their sons and daughters. I'm actually concerned about the eating habits being practiced in our homes. This fake outrage about body positivity has nothing to do with people's concerns for health, just how women look. If people were really concerned we'd be having more conversation about what everyone is eating, cooking, growing. Our men and women are more prone to heart disease and stroke. Which is why the approach of waiting until a woman puts on weight to talk to her isn't really addressing the problem, if that's even the problem people actually care about.
