Nobody was trading for 36 year old Eric Gordon.
:mjlol:
Dude was shooting like 60% from 3 in January. That on a 3m per year deal that turns into an expiring next year would’ve been an easy 2nd rounder.

Reggie Jackson, who was even worse on the same team, was able to get traded. They could’ve traded Eric Gordon lol

It was supposed to be a Magic vs Bird thing with him and Jokic for years to come.

Nothing more frustrating to observe than talent snuffed out. If you are gifted at your craft, please work on it consistently and never take it for granted.

I'm hoping he bounces back.
The thing I worry about with Joel the most is his mental state, bro gets depressed being away from the game and been constantly vocalizing how tough it's been to feel like he's letting people down

Hopefully he does what's best for him long term health wise even if that means retiring to ensure his quality of life after hoops

I, for one, welcome our new space overlords.
I was listening to 7pm in Brooklyn. Melo was saying whether he plays or not, he's still gonna have to work out and maintain his body. Otherwise hes gonna be 400 pounds with bad knees

It might be too late if he needs to get a piece from his hip or from a cadaver to make sure he's ok.
If a guy in his 30s is well paid and has never been a gym/diet buff, I got news for everyone :francis:

Well, it's like I called it about a little over a month ago that the Sixers should just sit Embiid, not just because of injuries but just the reality that this season was a wash and just wait for next season to pick it back up.

Philly is 20-38 on the season; keeping him on the court is pointless, knowing that they are not winning the championship, let alone making it far in the Postseason if they were to even get past the Play-In, if they were to make that. Having him out there and potentially sustaining an even worse injury is idiotic; one of the reasons why Embiid is like this, health-wise, is because the Sixers have never allowed him to fully rest and heal; there's always this extreme pressure for him to play, even when he's not close to 70%.

Yeah, yeah, I know some of you are probably gonna say, “Well, he's always injured, so he might as well play if he can...” Okay, but for what? Nothing about the Sixers this season says they'll make a deep run, so their stars Embiid and PG might as well sit out, take advantage of this very long extended offseason, get healthy, and hope for the best next year.

Now I still believe that Embiid can bounce back next season, same with PG because the truth is they both entered the season injured and never really stayed in the lineup consistently to get into a rhythm. Next season will be the litmus test of whether Joel and George are washed for good.

You’re assuming that he’s going to play next season, which just isn’t a given with that knee not getting better.

Whatever the plan is, he needs to do it as soon as possible.

This is why shutting him down early can be a good thing, it gives him time to recover but also see what other options can be done in preparation for the next season.

Keeping him out there was wasting time that could've been used to help him heal, this will be a long off-season for him so I suspect he'll be ready for opening night year, yeah he'll have the occasional bumps and bruises as always but he's still capable of putting up MVP numbers, I don't think he's cooked yet, this just wasn't his year.

Son got two kids and a wife…I hope he prioritizes them when making his decision instead of this franchise. He’s risked his body enough for this dysfunctional organization.

I might be wrong, but if we keep this years pick, OKC owns our 2026 pick and itll be top 3 protected. So this summer is pretty important.

We also got the Clippers 2028 pick which will be valuable. Harden and Kawhi will be gone
It’s top 4 protected. So you could leave with either AJ, Darryn, Cam or Jayden and be fine.

MVP
7x All-Star
5x All-NBA
3x All-Defense
2x Scoring Champ
Olympic Gold

There’s probably 50 players in the HOF with worse resumes

Hell T-Mac got in 1st ballot and he never won an MVP, made All-Defense, got a gold medal or won a playoff series
Michael Cooper and Chauncey Billups are in the HOF breh..don’t even waste your time arguing with people. Joel is walking in easy to the Hall.
