Jordan gave the “Jordan approved” documentary...it is what it is. I think it’s petty (but true to character) that he didn’t mention his first wife who had to hold him down at his peak as well as deal with all that comes with it, but that’s one of the stories that gets told if/when an objective doc is made. This was his Straight Outta Compton - the way Dre and Cube controlled the narrative is the way Jordan has
Yea its great entertainment. People just need to accept it as that though.
Blah Blah he was an a$$hole blah blah
Could have mentioned how important his wife (at the time) was off the court. :manny:

Yet had no problem showing Carmen Electra talk about her thot activities :comeon:

"I wasn't interested in the opinion of any wife or kids in this," Hehir told The Athletic's Richard Deitsch. "We had the storytellers we wanted, and I felt like we had the story covered from every angle."

Lil bit shocked you missed that Zig :patrice:

So in a JORDAN heavily featured doc that was showing a bunch of shyt about him in 84, 85, etc..was shown

However, the woman who was influential in his life is not in the DOC. That terrible MJ movie from the 90s even stated how important she was to him. They got a 10 hourt doc fam. Cant juelz about why she was completely ghost...unless you accept as Straight Outta Compton levels of controllin the narrative.

R.I.P to the security guard...but even he and his wife got a spot
edit: I dont care about the shyt from slate or others hating. His ex wife deserved some level of shout out

Admittedly the Doc wasnt as super intimate as it was hyped to be. You can tell the few instances of MJ cracking on his teammates were the most PG, Jordan approved clips they could find, and not him saying the very venomous things we know he said.

She was mentioned because in the season that this documentary was focused on, Dennis left to party in Vegas for 48 hours and she was with him when Mike had to pull him out the hotel room.

She wasn't talking about the intricacies in their relationship.

This is the problem with the Doc tho...it vacillates between being a doc about Jordan (showing all this other shyt..) and then being about the Last Dance.

We didnt NEED to hear from Carmen Electra. They just did anyway. No matter how people cut it up her hiding in the bedroom got more play than Juanita Jordan. Thats crazy to me. Especially for people who grew up in the 90s and always heard about Juanita Jordan.

We heard from his brothers, kids, mother, but not his ex-wife who was with him from the jump. LOL! Come on brehs, that's like Ahmad during a movie about his life with nothing from Phylicia Rashad.

His mom was in there:mjgrin:

Cameras were following the team the entire 98 season, one of the guys that was in Mike's entourage got diagnosed with cancer, left for a while, came back before an important game and MJ gave him the game ball. That's footage they had. It tied into Mike looking to him as a father figure after his dad died.

We didnt NEED to hear from Carmen Electra. They just did anyway. No matter how people cut it up her hiding in the bedroom got more play than Juanita Jordan.

Carmen got play in the Dennis focused episode. She got play because she was present for some crazy shyt that happened.

The only people who had their families talked about were:

Mike - Mom and brothers talked about his upbringing, how his relationship with his pops drove his competitiveness, retelling the story of James going missing, and MJ's emotions leading up the the 4th ring.

Pip - His brother talked about him being 1 of 12 kids, father and brother in a wheelchair, tying into why Pip felt he needed to take that long term deal.

Kerr - Mom talked about his Pops being killed and how Steve just kinda threw himself into ball and the producers questioned if that was something he and Mike connected with.

Thats crazy to me. Especially for people who grew up in the 90s and always heard about Juanita Jordan.

What did we hear about Juanita doing in the 90s?

what a trash article.

MJ is an elite basketball player and leader. I don't need him to be a role model of a selective social justice warrior. If you want to be a selective social justice warrior, then cool. But that doesn't affect your greatness as a basketball player.

The celebrity worship is America in a nutshell (didn't read the article).

We are more appalled by a comment Michael Jordan made about a political contest damn near 30 years than actual black politicians betraying black Americans on the daily (Baltimore for example).

People are mad a basketball player stars in a basketball documentary that is about basketball. :mjlol:

The man even okay'd parts about the media legitimately accusing him of being implicated in his dad's murder.

We don't know any of these players. The second any of them shed the facade of basketball greatness and show a bit of their vulnerable human side, we deride them for it (see KD and his burner accounts). Sports is an escape from mundane existence for most, and we want the players, in turn, to be monolithic, larger than life figures. If they seem too much like us, we question what the fukk we're doing with our selves and why we aren't as successful. I don't know shyt about who a LeBron really is, because he, masterfully and intelligently, has manicured his public persona. I don't blame him and I don't blame MJ for making sure basketball, sneakers, and movies are their legacy.

Back to this liquor, and Netflix for me, now
