Cassidy is a punchline rapper Goodz isn't.

Goodz focuses on different attributes, some of ya'll don't take into account the nuances an context of battle rap pick 2 lines and say "they're both trash so how did Goodz win"

Cassidy banks his whole style on one aspect... punchlines. So if you're not gonna have good punchlines, you're going to come across wack.

Goodz does more talking down, concept rounds, pacing and projection and writing ROUNDS instead of back to back LINES. So Goodz might have 3-4 wack punchlines in a battle, ya'll are right, but within the CONTEXT of the battle he is better overall.

When ya'll who don't follow battle rap pop up at these things you're not taking into account you've missed years of hundreds of battles to even know what styles, lines, subjects, flips, wordplay etc is played out and over used. CONTEXT. As a PUNCHLINE rapper Cassidy should already know the crowd is not gonna cheer for some elementary word association or some forced corny shyt. You said you punch, so the crowd expects high level punches. They don't expect that from Goodz, they expect him to bully you and talk down on you and make you look dumb. Listen to Rum Nittys 2nd round last night then listen to Cassidy if you want to know where punches have gone.

Let me be clear I actually liked some of Cassidys lines too, but that's the downfall of a back to back puncher. If you can't keep them hot the whole verse like Nitty the crowd is gonna be like ok, enough with the corny shyt. They will let a couple slide "get in the bag snuggle up" But after 5-6 OBC bars they are gonna stop cutting you slack. The crowd went nuts for the same style of punches in the first, they WANTED to cheer the man. But after the 30th doctor seuss punch they get tired of it.

If it was just how you write your bars we could all just read Goodz and Cass notebooks and pick a winner.

^Great summary. I compare it to the Mook Verb battle..Mook took a wrong angle in the third and rapped too long killing himself.

And we gonna Go back an analyze the bars. The compubox numbers will not take into account swag,,crowd control and who's on goodz dikk or just bias against Cass.

We, of the old regime, will go with the bars.

If I need eyeballs to say that goodz won then he Lauced.

I only need ears to see he got the cannon.

300 murders a year
so i watched cass vs goodz :snoop:

battle rap is a sport and you got to know how to do it. its not as simple as these industry guys want to make it and they learn that hard lesson every time.

cass rapped too long at times, he exhausted himself on the crowd, when it gets to the point where you cant wait for the next person to go you already losing.

:heh: nikka on the stream said cassidy rapped tracks 1 through 6 off his new album lol

which was the issue, its a difference in delivery his rounds sounded like a long ass freestyle on sway or flex. that just doesnt work on a big stage in a large crowd. and quite a bit of cass bars were outdated.

now in fairness, he had some bars that were good, not saying he fully done out here, and honestly if he stayed with it, he probably could get a bit better but he cant take 5 more years off. staying active is how you adjust.

of course goodz 3-0 that 2nd from cass was rough :snoop:

I’m sick of people giving NJT a pass. This nikka didn’t have a full three rds again. Trying to let Jak finish his rd is super corny. Now they saying that Jak was going rap for a minute in a half. The same people mad at JJDD, said Twork was right for not letting Hustle finish. NJT is just lazy. His bullshyt is going keep getting worse because fans give him a pass.

Anyone know what the bag was for this battle?

I’m sure it wasn’t too crazy. Probably $20-$30k

Let’s be real, selling out a club in Atlanta and doing a good amount of PPV buys is a nice little business but not one where a performer can be paid six figures

The days of big money outside investors and $50k-$100k bags are no longer

With that said Cassidy likely got a cut of the pay per view purse which is fair

Great analysis but goodz had A LOT of wack material

But battle rap is theatre now and you can say garbage shyt but as long as you sell it to the crowd you’ll stay alive which I think is so wack

I saw that a lot last night

People like k shine (doing his best impersonation of a nikka that rapped right before him but somehow doesn’t get bood out the building)

T- top, Suge, etc as long as you amp your corny shyt up, bark at the crowd, and have a couple of corny hypemen in your corner you’ll survive even with the lamest material

John John should have got tomatoes thrown at him out the gate

I’m not mad at people saying cass lost cuz I definitely thought he was gonna come better but what “wins” you a battle these days is hilarious to me this shyt is waaaay too theatrical I’m good

nikkas putting on aprons and Walmart vests lol smh

Even rum nitty who supposedly “left earth” had me falling asleep tbh so I must be washed up I want my money back lol

Edit: I thought young ill was really dope too....him and twork the only nikkas I was really fukking with last night...twork the only nikka that can get away with all those sound effects and headshot shyt imo

How are people really saying Cass first round was trash??? Y'all really don't listen to bars and only go off crowd reaction.
Yeah people that aren’t gonna at least give cassidy props for his first round are people whose opinion I can’t respect

He had a dry spot but finished up strong

Unfortunately he lost the crowd in the second

I’m just mad cuz he could’ve and should’ve definitely beat that shyt goodz came with even with the gas they was giving goodz

Cass just didn’t have enough variation in his shyt and he coulda got way more personal with goodz

He shoulda beat that goodz performance easily smh
