I've always seen So So Def as a Atlanta R&B label....that had successful rappers.

same here.

thing is, the small point i made in passing, got taken completely out-of-context. so now its looking like im trying to proclaim so so def as some sort of supreme hip-hop conglomerate.

but all i said was that when people thought of atlanta back then, so so def was the first thing that came to mind amongst the hip-hop generation.........and when i say 'hip-hop generation' im not just talking about rap music. @hexagram23

but people took it as such, so now people are in here breaking down so so def's rap roster. but for the record, da brat is one of the goat female rappers. i undersand, she gets brushed off on here because shes a female but whatever.

:why:again you make no sense. how are you a crew that's "just there" when your singles are charting and your records are selling? if they was just there nikkas would have flopped and we wouldn't even be talking about them today. of course you didn't see people rocking df shirts. you can't wear shyt that don't exist, nikkas didn't even refer to themselves as dungeon family yet.

BE SMART SON.

for the last time, theres plenty of people that charted better and sold more. AND AGAIN STOP BASING YOUR OPINIONS OFF OF SALES. youre making yourelf look like a geek. and i already broke down what i meant by "just there". even tho, i shouldnt have to explain that on a so-called hip-hop forum.

i never said they referred to themselves as the dungeon family back then. lol. what does that even have to do with anything? it sounds like you need a tissue.

and lol @ the bolded. nikkas dont even really talk about them today. they only get talked about on the net. and they get hyped up on the airwaves cuz of the machine theyre under.

Breh....what? :what:

So So Def had one R&B album out in 1993....the same year Outkast had "Player's Ball" out as a single.

If So So Def was the first thing that came to mind about ATL back then, then so is DF and by extension Outkast. At the very least equally so.

As far as So So Def in general....you gotta understand your perception of that era is filtered through your age. You're younger than me. So yeah, if you were 12-15 or younger, So So Def was probably the shyt. It wasn't any people my age :krs: over Da Brat's Snoop impersonation, or JD's struggle bars. People were impressed by "Player's Ball", though.

Fred.

nah. you still dont get it.

it has nothing to do with age perception. i base my statements off of cultural significance, not just rap music. youre too stuck on your hip-hop argument and "being impressed by players ball" when that is neither here nor there.

and for the record, i was never a kid-kid and im from the east coast. theres no age nostalgia surrounding so so def like youre trying to paint. for instance, the comment i made about the shirts. i never saw a kid rockin a so so def shirt. not saying it was some chit that i saw all the time or anything like that. not at all. but when you saw it, it was on an adult's back. just saying.

I'm a geek because i got facts to back up the shyt I'm saying?:camby: you talking in circles bruh. you said nobody was wearing dungeon family shirts, of course they didn't. you can't have dungeon family shirts if "dungeon family" doesn't even exist, but that has nothing to do with anything right? and nobody talks about them today but outkast is recognized by many as the goat. :snoop: i don't even know why going back and forth with you. :scust: ol Art Barr jr. ass nikka.
