They may not be the most lyrical rappers at this point, but them Atlanta nikkas still putting out the most/best music. What's this, like a STRONG 10 year run?
If they putting the best music out why does nobody have longevity?
Atlanta is the center of hip hop and the center of black culture in the US. There's still plenty of dope artists from Atlanta among the shytty ones
Why are they never getting pushed instead of the annual strip club ringer though? I want to believe a city that Black is producing some solid hip hop artists.

Peewee Longway,Young Thug,Migos,Future,Skooly,Gucci just to name a few are all dope to me.

I'm 29..grew up on 90's music but threads like this kill me...nikkas want everything to be like the 90's..if the south had that mindset they would be in the same spot most NY rappers are in now, jockin somebody else sound or sounding lame for trying to duplicate some shyt they know nothing about.

Most of the new dudes from the A were born in the 90's...grew up on Gucci/Jeezy not Outkast and Goodie Mob..it is what is.

Blah blah blah.. the best hip hop music... the most interesting hip hop music is still coming out Atlanta.. this years rap MVP is outta Future & YT... keep hating though

When was the last time an AOTY or contender for best rapper came out the South?

:dwillhuh: Brehs, is Future really DAT nikka in the Rap game right now??!! I don't really keep up with current music like that, so I don't know.

I would've assumed it was Kendrick. But, y'all talk about Young Thug so much in The Booth. I did like a couple singles off Future's Pluto album.

The Monster/Beastmode/56 Nights 3 peat really fukked the streets up. He got his number 1 spot back after those tapes.

,but Its deeper than rap (no rickross). It really is mood music x 1billion. He got anthems for the club, anthems for breakups, anthems for riding on nikkas, anthems for gettin ya fukk on, you name it he got it. No drugs needed. If you do have lean, loud, or molly, then its just

When was the last time an AOTY or contender for best rapper came out the South? The last time was TI in his prime and now he's busy running around with some Australian bytch. Yall can make hits and some underground lyricists but keep it real, nothing timeless or with any real value to hip hop is poppin out right now there.
lol @ the bolded

I'm not the one looking around confused. If you don't like it - cool do you. Rapper Big Pooh just put out a boom bap album go check it out or something...

It's amazing how so many of y'all use Outkast as a barometer when it comes to shytting on Atlanta...... like when Outkast was running shyt, the entire collective/ sound of Atlanta was on some Outkast-esqe shyt.

truth be Told... Outkast wasn't THAT influential when it came to the rest of Atlanta's sound... in the last 15 years of Atlanta rap, it's consistently been about dancing, selling dope, and beating ass.

Pretty much this. Gucci, Jeezy, and Future have had way more influence than Kast has had on Atlanta.

fixed:lolbron:...I liked Astronaut Status over Pluto outside of the hits, but when you think of the tracks he left off Pluto and what it could've been though? Its all time great album potential breh:mjcry:

And cant you say this about damn near every region? And Megatronbomb is right, this is the equivelant of saying "Its almost like Souls Of Mischief never existed in the bay",I don't think Outkast was exactly how everybody in ATL rapped,it was pretty diverse then, seems pretty diverse now.
