I’m in the high 80’s as well, but what does this mean? Is this a stunt on other black americans?Unlike some kneegrows, my African blood % is pretty high (88%).

I don't understand how the "African" part of African American takes away from "American" part of the term. The "African" acknowledges that we are descendants of unknown African tribes/nations. People who were forcibly taken from their lands and had their culture stripped from the moment they arrived America. I understand preferring to be called "Black" American like cacs are called "white" Americans but our circumstances in this country are different. They have been since the beginning, we didn't even become full citizens until recently. Whether we are called Black American or AA, it doesn't change how cacs see us or the role they believe we play in their country.
Yes, their country. Cacs have historically made it abundantly clear who this country is for. They only care about our contributions when we play our roles. This won't change no matter what we call ourselves. We should stop expecting cacs to voluntary see us as equals. They only speak on language.
I personally believe Black and AA are not mutually exclusive. They're interchangeable in most situations.
