If you non smokers are so worried about the smell of smoke you do realize the smoke coming out of those thousands of cars is also toxic.

Being submerged in the smog from cars exhausts but worrying about wether cigarette smoke is also mixed in...

You're neck deep in sewer water, which is fine with you. Now you see a pair of skidmarked tighty whiteys floating toward you and NOW it's become a problem. 732886 gallons of gray water is one thing but I drawn the line a pair of actual drawls floating by.

I say 'outside' is as far as non smokers can push smokers. One we get to outside you got a lotta other smokestacks you gotta plug up before you get to people smoking cigarettes - if you're claiming that the air is clean, then the smoker comes and fouls it.

I get it. You want your pollution to answer for itself. Be good pollution like car exhaust not like those doo doo head cigarette smokers.

I would say cigs add about 0.01% to the outdoor mix.

America contributes to the health problems it suffers from. Smoking in public is one of the most inconsiderate and impactful things to do to a non smokers health. Cars etc are unavoidable, the economy halts without them. Cigarettes serve no purpose but to feed the whims of nicotine addicts and drive up healthcare costs. Tobacco industry being allowed to exist is crazy. At least with alcohol you’re only ruining your own body.

Furthermore, the emissions from cars ARE regulated in most states and feds also set mpg requirements for this very reason.

there's a city out here - walnut creek - that banned smoking in their downtown area. and most cities you can't smoke within 20 ft of a building entrance. i'm for banning smoking up and down sidewalks, but if you're not supposed to smoke in your apartment, and you don't have outdoor space, and can't smoke on the sidewalk, where do you smoke? not that i care...
