Nah. The midterms are too far out for this to matter.

By then I'm sure the GOP will have some new dog whistle ready to rile up their voters.

President's party tends to lose seats in midterms and so far midterm polling is bad for Trump right now. Not to mention they're about to get smoked in Virginia on Tuesday, in the governor election there. Prob gonna get smoked in NJ too.

That's this year though, people will have forgotten about the government shutdown a year from now.

Also the Supreme Court is about to gut the voting rights act. Once that happens the GOP is going to gerrymander an extra 10+ guaranteed house seats. So at this point the Dems are fukked regardless. Realistically MAGA is going to be running things for a very long time.

Dems' best shot at the midterms imo, is;

-driving home the fact that this fukking clown ran on "bringing down the price of everything", and he didn't bring down the price of shyt
-talk up how badly they can expose the corruption of the Trump Crime Family
-talk up revamping the cost of healthcare. Republicans can't do shyt about it

Off year governor races are typically a harbinger for midterms, especially Virginia. In terms of the VRA we'll see. Dems are currently gerrymandering Virginia to retaliate. I would still expect dems to win the midterms regardless. Republican districts will be drawn under 2024 election data, including Hispanics who are souring on Trump. I don't think it's crazy to suggest they fukk this up based off that plus depleted midterm interest amongst the president's party.

We've only had two recent instances of a president's party doing well in a midterm (2002, 2022).

It is totally wild that someone can be that ignorant and people would vote for them.
Democrats=Minorities= Black people=caricature of The Infamous Welfare Queen(Reagan racism)

That what he means when he says "democrats"

Problems here…..These are all mid-term elections so they are local:

Purely running against Trump isn’t going to do it if there isn’t a direct line drawn between the Republican candidate enabling his non-sense

The average voter isn’t dialed into his family being corrupt. It’s wasted resources in a mid-term election to have to setup that narrative and then get buy in from voters.

It’s clear the electorate is uninformed and don’t dig into details. The message has to be dumbed down and focused on what is happening directly to them right now.

it worked in 2018 :yeshrug: and given the fact that the 2028 republican primary is just gonna be a trump dikksucking contest, i say they absolutely keep their foot on the gas with hitting Trump as a failure and scumbag

if people are down as bad as democrats seem to claim they are, then trump's disgusting kids fleecing the country for millions will cause a fair amount of resentment. also it's just wrong and illegal :dead:

I see your point but I think the apathy people have for Democrats cancels that out. That’s why all this polling about his approval rating to me is a false flag. People may hate him but are they engaged to vote for the alternative or sit at home……..I think we both agree Democrats have a problem on that front.

I’m just don’t see who you tell that story on a mid-term budget. Maybe it can be part of the messaging but right now that corruption isn’t taking money out of people’s pockets the way the soybean issue, beef and Argentina bailout are.
