Nah, if they are cognizant enough to apply and qualify for benefits, then they are certainly savvy enough to understand they voted for a party that was hellbent on hurting social services.

I'm sure we can send them bootstraps in the mail since they love using them so much.

Philadelphia voted Blue, racist-ass PA voted Red....fukk em!!! They get what they get...so Billy Bob's MeeMaw gonna have to hunt some turkeys or trap some rac00ns for Thanksgiving....
Yeah, but everybody on SNAP isn't a Trump/Republican supporter, not to mention if some even voted at all, which brings up another important topic of its own, but the point is that SNAP recipients who aren't a part of the problem are dealing with unfortunate circumstances due to the shutdown continuing.

Dems fighting for healthcare, while it is a noble act and very much needed, we have to also understand that it doesn't exactly benefit those in the moment struggling or worrying if they'll have enough to put food on their table throughout November.

So they might not see the Dems' position throughout all this through the same lens we do. It's easy for us not to look at it that way since we're not in their shoes, but when desperation kicks in and one is left wondering how they're going to feed themself and/or their family, one may see these matters differently, maybe somewhat selfishly, but understandable considering their food situation.

Unfortunately there must be collateral damage when fighting for what is right. They got food banks, they'll be alright. Don't bothsides this situation that the GOP clearly started and a majority of SNAP recipients are in Red-MAGA states....

They are getting what they wanted...

Republicans have every majority in Congress. Ask them why they aren't pushing through the budget bill which keeps ACA subsidies. There is a reason why Trump is begging for a nuclear option like removing the filibuster.

breaking news...

Trump administration pulled a "here nikka, damn" and said they will use the contingency fund to pay 50% of this months SNAP benefits. 4.65 bil out of the 9.2 bill a month for SNAP
That is good to hear. Problem is the only truthful thing that Keebler Elf Johnson said is that it isn’t as easy as just turning it back on. People might be waiting still for another couple weeks for this to actually kick in.

this right here proves Dems are also responsible...
youre okay with it because you agree with their fight.

but the fact of the matter is they are using SNAP benefits to hold Repubs hostage.

No they aren't.

Be smarter.

If this is the case, then why is it in Project 2025 to greatly decrease SNAP benefits. This was the plan all along. Republicans hate social programs, period.

Also, why should the Democrats bail this out? A hard head makes a soft ass.....and unfortunately sometimes people have to get what they voted for to learn a lesson.

So they'll get half of their normal SNAP benefit for November, and for December, they'll get their normal benefits as well as the other half (back pay) from November, which'll serve as extra for Christmas dinner.
