lol, I must admit it was the easiest CD to open on release day in the history of my buying albums.
The plastic came off on the first try. And the slide off artwork was a nice touch.
If we wanted to be douchey about it, we could refer to this album as the "Blue Case" like they do "The Purple Tape". lol

I have told people this is album of year so far - but to be fair, I don't listen to much new music so that can be taken with a
grain of salt. And i'm waitin' on those 2 new 40 Ozarkas to drop.

I love the use of simple colours for the sleeve and the main CD case + the CD itself. It also fits in with Pharrell's Adidas Supercolor range too.

The main reason I asked about AoTY is because we've had releases like Lupe and Kendrick, two top quality albums with serious subject matters. This is top quality (imo) but at the other end of the scale in terms of subject matter. Obviously its down to personal opinion and having this as AoTY wouldn't be outlandish in my eyes.

Everytime I listen to this album, it feels like the very first time. The production is so fresh. I can see me listening to this regularly for a very very long time.

No shyt he's not a singer, but he stays in his lane and it sounds good with all the effects to the voice harmonizing with the beat

POINT IS HE SHOULDA BEEN BUSTIN RAPS....OTHERWISE, THE ALBUM WOULDA BEEN JUST AS GOOD WITOUT SNOOP'S AUTOTUNE VOCALS (MAYBE EVEN BETTER). BACK-UP SINGERS AND PHARELL ALL DID THEIR THING.

I agree, I wish he would have rapped a lot more on this, he was flowing on the two songs he did, but it doesn't mean the songs he was singing was shyt either

The Dam Funk album is better.

THIS. Easily too. That said, there are a handful of tuff cuts on 'Bush'. IMO, 'so many pros' is far and away the funkiest shyt on the record.

Also, the Gwen joint is not all that.

Snoop should stay in this lane for the remainder of his relevancy.

Pharrell has become really irritating to me. I hate his voice now. He ruins California Roll. And does he really say "she throw it like Brett Favre"?

I like Pharrell. I would still consider myself a fan of his....but I can't rock with his voice and he 100% ruined that song. And yes, yes he did. That was the most Larry Holmes punchline I have ever heard. Doods been retired forever. How long did he have that line in his head? His production on the album was like a pop funk hip hop fusion.... I don't even know. The album isn't bad. Kinda cool actually. It just isn't nearly as good as the Dam Funk/Snoop joint IMO. I love funk and I prefer a more funk album, especially from Snoop.

Honestly if anyone likes this album but hasn't heard 7 Days Of Funk, go get it. PAY for it. Big Mel is insanely picky with music and he's even agreeing.
