So are we holding Dame to a standard this year or does he get to play the perpetual underdog? Again

:mjlol:SO DAMES CONTRACT
HAS BEEN HOLDING PORTLAND BACK?

:dead:IS HE MAKING MORE THAN
THE OTHER MAX PLAYERS IN
THE LEAGUE WHO PLAY
WITH ALL STARS?

DAME WOULDNT HAVE WON
WITH KD, AD, HARDEN OR KAWHI?
THEY ALL PLAY
WITH OTHER MAX CONTRACT
ALL NBA PLAYERS.
He’s not a supermax player.

Same with pre-injury Wall.

Who is in that level at his position? Who is this PG at a level youre speaking of? And Hes not deserving of his contract?
Did you miss out on Steph Curry’s career?

THEY WERE THE DEEPEST TEAM
IN THE LEAGUE BEFORE KD GOT THERE.

THEY WON 2 PLAYOFF SERIES
WITHOUT STEPH IN 2016.

I GUESS HIS AURA WAS
MAKING THEM LOOK BETTER
FROM THE BENCH.

The question pertained to before the 2014-15 season. Did you expect the Warriors to win 66 games and the nba title that year?

HE HAD THE SAME TEAM
IN THE 2013-14 SEASON
AND PUT UP THE SAME NUMBERS
SO WHAT CHANGED?

KLAY, HARRISON & DRAY GOT BETTER...
KERR IMPLEMENTED HIS SYSTEM.

AND THE QUESTION

Dame’s Blazers havent fielded a roster good enough to get to the finals EVER. Their roster construction has historically been with guys who are only good on one side of the ball. You cant win like that. Portland favours offence and a team like say the Raptors favour defence—both teams win a lot in the regular season but in the playoffs get exposed. So when you look at Portland, when were they most successful? When they had a bunch of long 3 and D wings and interior D—they made the conference finals. A couple years ago they lost that and well the result is what they have today, Dame and CJ who can create offence, Nurk who can score, a bunch of role players that can shoot or score but none of these nikkas are above average at defence or rebounding (well, Nurk/Whiteside) or passing. THAT has been their issue.
This is the best post here. Idk what y’all other nikkas talking about. Portland will never been good enough the way their roster is constructed. This is probably their best team they had under Dame and they’re still not good enough this year. They should have traded CJ McCollum because that backcourt ran its course. We’ve seen what they can do together and their ceiling is WCF. I agree, however, on the argument that Dame needs to get the chip off his shoulder now. He isn’t a underdog anymore (his teams sure) so he doesn’t need to be going around acting like he doesn’t get his recognition. He’s not getting snubbed on All Star and All NBA teams anymore, he’s in the middle of his prime, he needs to start acting like the top 3 PG that he is and being a better leader for his team.

The question was about BEFORE THE 14-15 season. Did you see them as title favorites before the season began?

Naw that’s an actual fact. Team was outta the playoffs before he got hurt....not a peep. Y’all love bringing up that wcf appearance as his magnum opus (which is laughable honestly) but never wanna get into the particulars about that playoff run and how that said wcf went....which is the point dude. The foibles never get brought up. Got carried by his 2nd option in the 2nd rd against DEN, but at the same time he infinitely has no help. Got his shyt pushed back to the tune of a sweep and his matchup having, statistically, the greatest western conference performance of all time....but he gets a pat on the back for getting there :mjlol:. Despite having a 3 seeded roster . But you brought up the past, I’m talking about this upcoming season and the fact that, and this is just me speculating here, you having absolutely no expectations for a 9yr 1st team all nba all star.
