So are you a fan of the "new" WWE style?

Flippy shyt! Big bumps! Finishers spam! Nearfalls! Every match!!

  • Love it, it's miles better than 5-10 years ago

  • I like it, matches are consistently better than before

  • Not a fan, it gets repetitive and losses it's impact fast

  • Hate it, everything ends up being meaningless and doesn't make sense

He never got that from Gordon Solie, do you think put his own spin on what Joey Styles was doing at the time.

JR has always been hyped when announcing. He was losing his shyt as far as his NWA days (his best work as play by play, imo). He wasn't screaming hyperbole, but he was screaming anyway :pachaha:

Yeah he was always loud and excited even in the Mid South days. It's just in the Attitude Era every call was like he was calling God and Satan battling for the existence of the universe.

Imo a lot of issues could be assuaged if you had signatures randomly win matches from time to time. In current WWE, no matter how many moves you do, you can ONLY win with you finisher or a roll up. Or just a random move. You don't have to do it every show. You don't even have to do it every week. Just once in a while have Sami win with the BTB or someone win with a strike that isn't one of their main moves. That way, all the movez movez movez thing automatically has meaning in the context of the company since someone can lose to any move at any time. Do it maybe once or twice a month and the audience will be retrained to accept that anything could be a finisher in just a few months and might actually start believing some of those near fall fests.

Ziggler super X-factor. No pin.
Rollins superplex/Falcon Arrow combo. No pin.
Several KO specials. No pin.
Everyone's superkick. No pinfall.

Braun Strowman has pinned people with 3 different moves so far :russ:

it waters down the product.
a lot of people point at Rock/Austin WM17 or HBK/Taker at WM 25-26, but the big difference is those were the MAIN EVENTS of WRESTLEMANIA. now you get these kickout fests every Monday on raw.
some people like to shyt on the attitude era matches on raw, being "trash" or being like 3 mins, or ending without a legit winner. but there were a reasons for that. they were building up to the PPV matches, the matches that mattered. they were able to get characters, storylines, angles, and wrestlers over through strong storytelling and character "development"
the overall amount of workers today may be "better" but they aren't the strong characters you used to have.

and I've said this before, I don't even put all the blame on the wrestlers, the agents, Vince, HHH, the writers are all to blame also.

Yep, what the fukk are Dean malenko, Kidman, Road Dogg and all these guys doing? Dunno exactly who the agents are that work with the guys to make the matches, but they just enabling this bullshyt. It goes to the production and bookers too, if they give a random Raw match 15 minutes, they are gonna have to stretch it out with a ton of bullshyt spots and kick outs. Shorten the shyt brehs. Nobody cares.

Furthermore and this is slightly unrelated but the idea of a "Hell in a Cell" ppv is retarded. Instead of feuds building and leading to a match type like that, they have to gimmick the storylines to match the PPV types. Lame as hell.

But with all thats been said in this topic, this is mostly a "RAW" problem. Smackdown doesnt really put that much of an emphasis on matches, usually just give you one match thats long and honestly even that is getting to be too much for me. I think AJ Styles is probably the best wrestler on earth based on what I been seeing, but I dont wanna see him do 20 minute matches on Smackdown every week. Springboard 450s on Smackdown kill the hype of the move. Just have a 5 minute match that ends with fukkery. (AND BY fukkERY I DONT MEAN A SCHOOLBOY)

...what about it? That's AJ's finisher. I'm talking about like if he won with a Pele kick one week.
His new finish he's been using as a heel is the styles clash. Except for the cena summerslam match

Yea, AJ never used that as a finisher maybe his 3rd WWE match :russ: that is a perfect eample. AJ has rarely used the Styles Clash in the WWE, leading to it being special

Another thing we forgot to mention when talking about these finishet near falls... how about when the guys kick out on 2 with such force and conviction it looks like they were barely even hurt by it. in fact some of them don't even look like near falls at all the way these guys fukkin dragon punch after the 2 count.

They kick out with authority every time. They been doing that for a while. It's annoying

I think WWE style is the best when worked correctly. Make the moves important was the basic idea behind the main event or WWE Style. When guys do it...its great. Take your time. Some of these guys like KO do to much before the crowd can process it. Or guys like Dean Ambrose doin a god damn Tornado DDT but cant win with it, but then Dirty Deeds is a damn death move. Overused Tope's and DDTs and Superkicks. Then you got people who do run ins, but conviently find time to grab their championship belt and have their music play...shyts corny. Or how you gotta pin people facing the hard camera...looks awkward as fukk. Every style has its drawbacks tho. Some more than others. The biggest problems WWE is having with their match psychology is due to these indie muthafukkas coming over who can't leave that shytty ROH style behind.
