i agree 100% BUT somewhere down the line common sense has to step in,my daughter 13 yr old and knows football is a high speed contact sport, long term damage is gonna be expected...that's like being a firefighter and not expected to get burnt or feel heat, you think you was just gonna chill in the firehouse and eat steak and collect checks...i also want to add that, these nikkas are getting paid a GOOD amount of money to put the RISK of there body on the line...not like these nikkas making 10.50 a hr...i stay in chicago and dodge bullets every other ,they can save this joe budden sob story for somebody else....nikkas talking to there attorney about a law suit with my house on they wrist
While I understand ur post, at the same time players havent always known about the long term risks of football.
Back in the day, high school players would practice full pads in 100 degree heat. And if they needed water more than once every hour or so or whenever their break was, the coaches would blast them, insult them, call them wimps etc. Then if said player passed out, it was no big deal to the coaches. He'd come back around and then have to practice again. NONE of that is healthy. And once some of those kids STOPPED waking up after they passed out, then it became a HUGE issue.
Likewise, many of the players in the 70's-the 90's never knew the long term dangers of concussions. All before, your coach would just tell you to "shake it off" or "tough it out" and get back out there. And maybe your symptons would go away a day or two later, but that doesnt mean it's healed. So you get another, and another, etc.....and years later it catches up to you.
