Let's be honest here. Bryan is one of the most well rounded complete wrestlers to ever be in the WWE. He's mastered every in-ring aspect of a match and is up there in the elite category already.

If we're talking WWE runs it's still easily HBK, both as a worker and overall character.

If you count his indy run then isn't a bad comparison though, you can make a case for DB.

Daniel Bryan is cool and everything, but he mostly does kicks in his matches.

Better technical skill than Bret though?

If you're getting on D-Bry for his lack of moveset, then Shawn Michaels should get the same criticism. Dude practically did nothing leading up to sweet chin music.

Shawn vs stone cold with tyson as ref was the beginning of the comeback.

that was mostly about tyson & austin.

not saying that he didnt do his part, but hbk was the expendable piece.

let the dude cook a little before you start crowning them...we live in an era where people have shorter memories and attention spans check back in 5 years and see if the run is sustainable

in ring he should be able to have classics for years though

Firstly, D Bry's "neutered style" is what were gonna judge him on. How is it that HBK could wrestle in the mid 2000s and on with all these rules and put absolute classics with everyone? how do we know if HBK wrassled in the Indies he wouldnt have tore it up? In the end your legacy is gonna be where Vince is at. Nobody cares what you did anywhere else really. This is especially true if you say Bret Austin is one of your fav matches, cause wcw was still killing them in the ratings, but I remember as kids we only talked about WWF, cause it was just better.

Bryan Wyatt is prob Bryans best match so far in the E. Thats at best comparable to HBK Mankind at In Your House.

And the moveset. Come on. You watch Shawn Vs Bret and they practically pull out every move in the book. In addition to his signature moves, the flying forearm, elbow drop and super kick, he did hurricanranas, atomic drops, moonsaults (the one to beat Vader is legendary, and during his comeback he took it to another level with the moonsaults.), piledrivers, the face stomp, suplexes of all sorts, crossbody's, etc....the list goes on. Shawn's figure four was also dope. The catch as catch can shyt with HBK was legendary, ask Bret.

D Bry is awesome, but come on. Yes Lock and flying headbutt, Chris Benoit's moves. Other than that he just kicks a lot and does a top rope hurricanrana. In ROH he had a much crazier moveset, but who didnt? All the ROH matches are full of crazy spots, but if barely anyone saw it how is it a classic?

D Bry put on 2 dope matches at mania, but neither were great matches. HBK has countless legendary mania matches.

Finally, HBK was the king of innovation. First televised Ladder match with many moves that are copied to this day, a one hour match at Mania with Bret, how many other wrestlers can say they are good enough to take up an entire hour and more of the biggest PPV in wrestling? The first Hell in a Cell, dude was climbing up the cell and dropping elbows on Taker.

I appreciate Bryan as much as the next guy, but Bryan would be laughing at people saying hes surpassed HBK. The ones vocally saying this seemingly have some sort of bias against HBK as a wrestler for one reason or another.

Breh's i watched ROH i was a lucky dude to have the hook up with the PPV's I was watchin that in the mid 00's and was greatly impressed and the American Dragon left the biggest impact. But I couldnt remember or tell you what matches i saw. Its just not the same as doing it in the E.

In order for Bryan to cement his legacy, he needs to put in a lot of work. I believe he is more technically proficient than HBK, but that is probably due to them being from different era's. HBK was one of the first to do the things he did in America. D Bry is not, hes an evolution of wrasslin to the modern times, where guys in general are just more talented. He is ultra talented so dont think Im saying dude is mediocre, hes my fav guy in the biz right now. Just not fair to HBGOAT to say hes already a bigger legend. No way
