Never watched these dudes. Seemed like they were only good for being gifs.

:yeshrug:

This is how white people like to see Black people: “urban” but safe. Edgy, but not dangerous or close by.

It’s the new version of tap dancing for cacs. In any case I love seeing Black ppl get money (so good for the breh, and then good for his Latin friend I guess)
Why do we police black people's demeanor and behavior like this? They're not aggressive so they're "safe" and tap dancing for white people? They're two NY dudes who talk shyt about sports, music, and pop culture. There are more black people like them than "dangerous" black people. And there's nothing wrong with that.

I didn't fukk with their show at all BTW but I always thought they were funny on twitter.

Desus and Mero were funny when they had the daily show on Vice and commented on current events, but once they went to SHO and hired a team of cac and mammy writers to try and mimic their voice, they shyt started to get stale. Desus & Mero will probably be good if they go their separate ways but people fukk with them as a duo. nikkas leaving bread on the table.

Yeah, the show lost a lot of its organic feel when it went to Showtime. Once they really started getting mainstream attention you could tell they lost a lot of the recklessness that made the show funny, and started catering the show to a different audience. I got Showtime just to watch their show, but it got progressively worse the bigger they got.

When I read that they were hiring people from John Oliver's show and the Daily Show to write for them, I knew it was for the worse. The show was very bland and sanitized compared to the Viceland show. The podcast was still good, but I can't be listening to 3 hour podcasts regularly.

Ziwe was the juice behind the the glory days at vice. Crazy considering on her show its ran like the old Desus and Mero show just with skits.

Above the fray.
Those guys came up from the Bodega Boys era. Outside of an appearance on Taxstone, which was hilarious, never found them to be funny.
And even on that appearance, it was clear that they wouldn't laugh, or make fun of certain groups....but the there was a green light on everybody else.

At any rate, they made good money during their run,and put their people on.
