Breh they never had their edge on showtime but they got a little bag. They flamed out at the end of the vice show and the podcast was suffering by then.

No way they should be in this position right now if business was being handled well. Not saying it was bad business but more shouldve come from this thing. But maybe they’ve just reached the end of their road as a duo.

Mero peaked and overachieved. Desus is salvageable and when he comes out the closet, gay Hollywood will look out for him for sure — just a matter of how zesty he’s willing to play things.

They jokingly said on the podcast before that they would sell out and break up. It probably said in jest but there was probably some truth to it - they knew their personalities would clash at some point.

They also hated the amount of work that they had to do for Vice. I'm not so sure that they would've grinded and gone 100% into their own YouTube/Twitch/Patreon/podcast.

I actually have never watched their stuff outside of little clips on Twitter. Never watched a single interview.

I’ll also add that because they used real song drops and samples they could never have advertisements for the podcast so I don’t even think that really raked in bread for them. Probably was more of a pain to even together for two hours to talk than what it was worth

I never watched this show but damn I've never seen a bigger group of haters than the Coli. Can't be happy for shyt. :scust:
Coli brehs only like laughing at each other. Any other time they got the Benny The Butcher mean mug. The world is a place devoid of humor to y’all.

I was at their BX show when they did a tour of each borough and they only started seeing real money when it led to a show on Vice. Most of the early shows, Mero was still a teacher’s aid on 176th and in Desus’ case, he didn’t leave his apartment in the North Bronx til around the pandemic. They chose to keep the show free.

Them doing the pod less was probably a result of Showtime since they’re behind a paywall and the show was free. You might as well wait for a free pod than pay to watch the show, especially since the show was more sanitized and the extended interviews wound up on YouTube anyway.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
For as successful as they were they still low key underachieved :patrice:
Desus is a star fukker, at least that’s what it looks like. He on Anna Kendrick’s coat tails like a mother fukker, chasing her around Europe and shyt. He could be beating, but he seems to like that side kick, gay best friend role, not that he gives any indication that he is gay, tho. I don’t want to slander the art, I agree that the jokes and shyt weren’t hitting anymore, and the 15 min of aka shyts were cringe asf, but they did some funny, edgy shot when it was fresh, and just about every pod, they said at least a couple of funny things. For me, I stopped laughing when Desus would make the connection, or premise of a song, and Mero would have to beat that shyt into the ground, too much

Got put on to them through my girl

Immediately , as soon as I heard one of their podcast, I thought these nikkas talk like message board nikkas , (I was on boxden at that time) and I think that's where at least one of them use to post on, probably Desus

If those nikkas are corny then what does that make alot of you nikkas?

TLR specifically, sounds like a bunch of super conservative sour grape ass nikkas that have become disillusioned by life.

ole angsty, augumentative nikkas. nikkas be having the same takes as D&M but when they do it theyre corny.

I cant even say ima big fan because I havent consistently watch them since they moved away from Vice, but spade is a spade, yall dissing your selves TBH
Lot of these fellas identify more with a akedemiks type of character. Desus and mero are certainly internet niccas but not the cellar dweller lame scared of women and fights type.
