Desus is a star fukker, at least that’s what it looks like. He on Anna Kendrick’s coat tails like a mother fukker, chasing her around Europe and shyt. He could be beating, but he seems to like that side kick, gay best friend role, not that he gives any indication that he is gay, tho. I don’t want to slander the art, I agree that the jokes and shyt weren’t hitting anymore, and the 15 min of aka shyts were cringe asf, but they did some funny, edgy shot when it was fresh, and just about every pod, they said at least a couple of funny things. For me, I stopped laughing when Desus would make the connection, or premise of a song, and Mero would have to beat that shyt into the ground, too much

Desus is prolly not beating at can finally be "free" now that he has Hollywood connects and folks in his ear telling him he can be so much more without having to drag someone else along who doesn't contribute nearly as much.

You got one person who overachieved beyond what he prolly thought was possible while the other wanted more for himself and knew he couldn't keep on. Desus wants his own shyt with his own people and lives a totally different lifestyle from the other guy.

The damn thing was gonna end at some point but they kept it on life support until it wasn't feasible anymore. oh well.....

They should’ve worked harder on the “brand” and finding ways to reeeeeeeeally pull in $ if money was an issue. No reason why they couldn’t have gotten writers and designers for “cheap” and basically made a whole fake ass clothing line.

These guys aren’t dumb. Their schtick had a finite life span and that’s when they should’ve been working 24 hrs a day so they could cash out or get a fukking Netflix deal. Both of them combined could prolly barely be one actual writer but you can’t tell me they didn’t have the pull to assemble a team. It ain’t that hard to poach people if you pay them decent with the promise that the shyt will grow.

Oh and these dudes always being faded all the damn time stopped being a good look.

they got by (with the podcast) on alot of NY references, music related stuff and being able to literally talk better than the podcasters in somewhat of a similar lane. And they appear to be much more "book smart" than someone who isn't a hot rapper anymore and is pivoting to podcasts. You could tell they are not idiots.

But the shyt needed to evolve beyond what it was. Desus seems like he was carrying the lion's share of the shyt easily. I could see him getting some Netflix or Hulu deal or flat our French Montana-ing his way thru the Hollywood social circle so he could be more out there instead of creating a show and the real mainstream has no idea who he is.

By the tail end of the vice show they were running on fumes and the podcast was unlistenable. Covid was no excuse either. The should have and could have used that time to use the city as the landscape to go out and film all kinds of fukkery that was going on here. No fukkin reason why they shouldn't have created something like Side Talk and passed it off to some younger cats to host/run while it was part of their "network".

The blueprint is out there because someone like Kevin Hart has been dipping his fingers in all kinds of shyt for years while still being the marquee name

But the talent "output" between them flat out didnt seem like it was 50/50. their lifestyles weren't on the same page and neither was their abilities.

At some point you gotta see who is Justin and who is the rest of NSYNC basically.
