Belly was based on real events, so some of that really happened

As far as Shameik posting bail, he was a soldier, not a money maker for Knowledge so i doubt he could pay the bail. You know this by the first time seeing him, he was in the chinese spot with his people drinking liquor! That aint something a money maker would do.

Tommy was getting money with Knowledge, so he probably could pay the bail, but was on the run from the same shyt. It was basically miscommunication on each others part, but Tommy made it worse by cursing Knowledge out when he called his condo in Atlanta. If Tommy talked nice, and explained why he was on the run, Knowledge would understand, but Tommy was just too disrespectful. Trying to get him wasn't really about bail, but his disrespect.

Idk why but I have never considered Belly to be a “hood movie” until you just said it. I think the first scene was so epic, it doesn’t give you that hood movie feel.
Its a straight NYC hood movie for people who lived through the drug kingpin era of the mid-late 80's- the mid 90's. The going out of town to make money, all the blunt smoking, the stick ups happening, hooking up with Jamaicans to get more money, and how ruthless they were, plus more. It just took place in Queens, but a lot of them are hood too, because hood is a mentality, not just how your area looks.

I get that, but Knowledge was disrespectful first. Called up Tommy's crib from the joint, even though he had suspicion that the phones were tapped and even stated so WHILE on the phone with Keisha. Not having the slightest semblance of foresight to think that he was incriminating his partner in the very crimes he himself got imprisoned for. Like what if Tommy was at the crib when the FEDS invaded?

Who was going to pay whose bail money then? :stopitslime:

nikka should've had a plan B, C, AND D.

Then Knowledge proceeded to talk grimey AGAIN when he hit up Buns' ATL phone, not even taking in account that he was responsible for the reason Tommy was on the run. nikka was belligerent as fukk. And Tommy responded accordingly if you ask me. If you making shyt hot on my end, then have the audacity come at ME disrespectfully I'm reciprocating the same energy.

fukk that.

Yeah, that is true!

Sincere did say Knowledge was grimy & he didn't trust him. When they first show him, they should have not went into business with him! When we are shown who he is, he is counting money, and telling Tommy "black" wanted to rob sincere. He is the one who set up the nightclub robbery, and hooked up "black" with them, but he is the same one who told Tommy about "black" not liking Sincere. That alone tells you he is no good.

Now that you got me thinking about all of this, the movie was done excellent, because the beginning lets you know who the people are before everything happens.

BELLY IS NOT A "HOOD MOVIE". IT IS A BLACK CRIME FILM.
