Just watched finally

Incredible, its on the hbk/taker level, especially the finish...

I dont do stars, its an A+ though.

AND THE RIGHT GUY WON. The crowd absolutely loved it and they went home happy asf. Omega will get his, and the one winged angel is perfectly protected.

I wanted that angel thru the table spott though, WE WILL GET IT.

I have no complaints assuming okada isnt injured. Amazing match. I have to reorder my top five in the world now

When is the last time a big WWE main event resulted in the crowd going home happy? Maybe some of the AJ Styles wins but AJ/Cena didn't close out SummerSlam. Certainly the Daniel Bryan title win at WM30.

We are looking at two promotions with opposite trajectories and I feel like most of it comes down to simple booking. Why do most of us like SD!? Because it's logical, it's not insulting to the audience, they have adult conversations and it's well booked. Plus, everyone is utilized effectively.

New Japan was on a downswing for many years and since 2010 they've turned it all around. Why? Because they let the stars shine and they book logical finishes and usually send the crowds home happy.

WWE would rather shove certain wrestlers down the fans throats and hear boos or just plain indifference at the end instead of doing the right damn thing.

One of the key things from this match, that I really lament in the wwe is finishers being protected.

The fact that they went almost 50 minutes without Omega landing the OWA made it seem like a nuclear warhead. If this was the E he would have hit it 3-5 times and okada would have kicked out every time.
:francis:

Even Okada only had his finisher kicked out of once. It adds so much to the story/drama when finishers mean something.

The only people in the E with protected finishers are probably Amtrash ( Dirty deeds is rarely kicked out of... but he sucks in ring. Wasted on him) and Corbin ( I haven't seen anyone kick out of End of Days. Even AJ stole his pin from it. Corbin green but let him cook).

Everyone else, finisher don't mean shyt. :yeshrug:

Just watched it again. I'm sorry, but if you got this match as less than 5 stars then you are hating badly. Its your opinion so you aint wrong, but you are hating.
:francis:

The match was 4.5 stars minimum already, arguably 5, after the very first Rainmaker kickout. And there was still like 10 minutes of high intensity drama following that.

I actually think I liked it more the 2nd time.

And to be honest, if I had seen it live without being spoiled, I may be one of those people saying it was worthy of 6 stars

Wrestlemania 25?

:francis:

With a botch that damn near killed the Undertaker?

With them spending like 10 minutes of the match laying on the ground?

No. Its a 4.5 star match and still somehow the most overrated match in WWE history, not sure how thats even possible

Their Hell in a Cell match was better
rewatched it since then and i agree with you. it was a better match in my mind than it actually was.

I don't see any match outdoing this one this year. Maybe the Okada-Omega rematch that is inevitable can top it.
