So I watched this match.... 4/5, very good overall, but the endless false finishes was borderline satire, took away from the match

I said this in another thread. It's crazy how much times have changed. Nowadays there's a whole bunch of people (myself included) that have no problem dismissing Dave's shytty taste on current wrestling. If this was 25 years ago guys like Okada and Tanahashi would be treated with the same eminence as Kobashi and Misawa.

What a time to be alive, to have had the honor of watch live the FIRST EVER SIX STARS MATCH :wow:

:laff::laff::laff::laff::laff:

He said on twitter he also gave it to Misawa vs Kawada (didn't put a date on it though). Dave has finally reached full troll status :pachaha:

I was more :russell: at the mindless opening act of the match. That shyt lead nowhere and had no rime no reason to anything they did later. At least the last 10 minutes were a dope spotfest.

Now that I think about it, this felt like a Dragon Gate main event circa 2008-09 (that's when I stopped watching). Am I too far off @The Rainmaker ? :patrice:

If we're talking about random build-up that goes to nowhere, sure, but honestly I don't remember a Dragon Gate main event from that time with a final sequence as ridiculous as this one :lolbron:

Watched it again and it was better the second time around. I give it either 4.5 or 4.75 stars.

My only complaint was there were too many spots that could of been the finish. That top rope half Nelson suplex comes to mind. shyt was vicious.

I saw the match today and I honestly wouldn't give it higher than 4.5. Dave really adds a star and a half to NJ matches by default.

Nah, it wasn't finisher spamming in the sense that there were a bunch of kickouts, one kickouts from the Rainmaker and Omega never hit the OWA. That was protected..

Yeah, people here talking like it was an endless finisher-kickout-finisher-kickout sequence.

There was only ONE kickout of the Rainmaker, and this is the third person EVER to have done that.

It's not like the finisher was made obsolete in a month, like the Styles Clash in WWE.
