There is probably an inverse correlation for compliments and dating success in my experience, that hoe is a weirdo.
Happened to me before on a blind date, not that she didn't talk to me again but she definitely brought it up later on when we left. I just said sorry and kept it moving but in reality she seemed legit hurt by it. 
Dating today is contrived as all shyt, too much of a fukking head game.

That is odd. I’ve never gone on a date with a guy that didn’t compliment me. Even if it’s not body/looks compliments at least tell her she’s funny or has good taste, something.

i don't think it's normal, but i also know people who just aren't good at complimenting people for whatever reason. they definitely aren't living up to the social norm...

You usually know when a date is going well, unless you are useless at reading body language and cues. It isn't about compliments. I never compliment a woman on the first date, but if I am into you it is obvious. I smile more, talk more, hint at a second date try to prolong the date etc.
For women, they are even easier to read. If they don't like you they make it obvious, absolutely no regard for your feelings.

My boy just got back in the dating game after dating out and being engaged for like years. He hadn't really dated black women like that but is trying to now...stays hitting the group chat like "Why are they so difficult and demanding???".
