I hated it on first listen, like the hook/beat OK, verses were still type struggle but having the visuals made me like it more than I did...seeing the beastie boys influence, the LL shyt, the whole rock/rap vibe from that whole era, I like THAT.

I'd rather listen to this than "the real slim shady", the only first single of his that I ever really liked enough to listen to like that was without me, so I know better than to say this song is indicative of what the rest of the album will sound like.

nothing against eminem but this song is terrible.
eminem has some personal classics like mockingbird but i don't fuq with him like that. most of his first singles are wack. they are wack by design. i hear iovine picks the songs and wants them as corny as possible to appeal to white ppl. for that reason i just dont get into eminem music and albums. i've never listened to an eminem album. he needs to get off that label and make albums like he wants to.

As usual, people going overboard about how awful the new Eminem single is. If you've been around long enough to be familiar with his singles, then you know "Berzerk" is in no way, shape, form, or fashion his corniest or even his worst single. It's not even his worst first single. Granted, I don't really like the song all that much, but unfortunately, it's dope in comparison to garbage like "Just Lose It".

the whole goofy single formula argument is just becoming an excuse for eminem's increasing wackness. we get it. that was a ploy to identify with and get the attention of white kids and therefore move units and worked for a long time. but cmon breh, you 40 years old, already rich as hell, and trying to repair your legacy and regain respect of actual hiphop fans that you lost when you started overdoing it with the funny type stuff. that goofy single stuff was tired when "we made you" came out in '09, now its just flat out embarrassing.

If Eminem wants to live up to the hype of the MMLP sequel . He needs to go back to formatting a dark feel to the album. I don't want to hear none of that Alex da Kidd/Skylar Gray/Love the Way You lie Emo bullshyt from dude. I'm talking taking this shyt back to the darkside production wise and with some of the guests that should be on there. That Bezerk jawn had a great idea but a poor execution.

Have Dre, Rick Rubin be executive producers. I'd also have him link up with Tyler Creator, Alchemist, Havoc, Scram Jones or even Premier(for the hip hop boom bap track). I'd also have him link up with some of the Strange Music fam as well because they can give the album very dark elements.

For features, I'd feature Hopsin(which would be a great look for him since he's inspired by Em) Tyler(Same for Hop), Technine, Slaughterhouse, Brotha Lynch Hung(Which would be a sick collabo), Danny Brown since he got the crazy ass ODB thing going right now, Hell I'd even love to hear a collab wit him and Ill Bill.

This isn't really that "goofy" single though...it's got some of those familiar elements of humor in it but really it's an homage to the rap/rock beastie boy era, as you can see with Rick in the video and being heavily involved in the album. He's not dressing up or doing characters, he's sampling a classic rock song and paying tribute to his influences.

Apologists? Eminem apologists that make excuses for why his singles sound like they sound are no different from detractors who overcomepensate by saying every single he puts out is garbage no matter how it sounds.

One thing about Eminem is that there's hardly any middle ground. He has stans that think every thing he drops is golden and then there's those that will label anything he does as garbage.
