Ignorance I dunno, but you damn right I'm salty about not getting the PO or SP this country is stupid as fukk and I'm not ignoring the fact that the Rethugs made it difficult. But I go to Canada yearly and always come back here with a  look cuz we look like fukkin idiots. I can't tell you how many times Americans have been laughed at in conversations up there just cuz these insurance companies got the juice. I'm not even oppose to single payer taking time it obviously would have cuz we'd either need to revamp Medicaid or start some new shyt. Point is, I'm not at all opposed to paying taxes for universal health care its the whole reason why I voted for Obama I was actually paying attention to what he was sayin not just rootin for him out of black solidarity.

Look, I'll give the guy credit for trying but he fell short from what I expected and what he campaigned on. Once he sold out on the Public Option that pretty much made me not fukk with Obama like that. I'm glad Medicaid has been expanded, I'm glad people have to be covered regardless of pre-existing illness/injury, but ACA still fell short of what this country needs. Not to take him for granted cuz we'll be stuck with some wrinkly old cac after him, but dude was a let down from then onward. Drone bombing families in
foreign countries and giving GOP bootstrap speeches to black people ain't make it no better.

I'm surprised this thread did numbers tho. :ehh:

I should've been done with Obama when he let the Republicans punk him to make Shirley Sherrod resign.

Dude want to call me ignorant about the ACA.:aicmon: My Mother has worked in the health insurance industry for over 30 years. She's the one who broke it down to me when I would ask her question while registering.

Yeah, as disappointed as I was with Obama the Congress left me disgusted and just like you said it was the blue dogs that fukked it up the most imo it was a given Rethugs would be opposed either way. I'm a year too old to use my parents plan so I either gotta pay insurance companies(whom I hate) or eat the fine and for now I'ma just eat the fine. I'll see if the Medicaid extension applies to me but I have my doubts. I just don't agree with healthcare being big business whether that's the reality of the situation or not. But I don't disagree with what you say, I'm not saying Obama should've done nothing but jeez this shyt wasn't what I had in mind. It has "good job, good effort" written all over it. Him being a moderate and trying appease the other side of the aisle let me down cuz anyone with eyes could see they just wanted to sabotage everything he tried to do.

But your absolutely right, Obama's tenure has turned me into a staunch progressive. Honestly, I think progressives should just be the 3rd party to challenge the status quo cuz I can't hardly tell the difference between Dem and Rep anymore except one is center right and the other is right in the nuthouse.
I get the big business fatigue, but believe it or not, health insurance companies don't even have that high of a profit margin compared to some other scumbags. But I get livelihood being a business irking people just like prison being a business irks me. It's strange, but I can tell you if you qualify for subsidies or medicaid right now. Just check the calculator: http://graphics.wsj.com/health-care-explorer/#/?age=26&fips=48015&metal_level=Silver

If you're in DC you have to go to the Kaiser Foundation to check though

That was directed more at Demon (and the other dude I @ than you) who is lying than you, but go ahead and tell me the exact coverage in front of you. My mtoher works in the health insurance industry too and she had to be briefed on this stuff....that's not really a strong point.

You've still yet to demonstrate how the bill hurt your rate.....and I'm not even trying to be out here campaigning for this shyt but let's at least put it on the table.

Here's the calculator: http://graphics.wsj.com/health-care-explorer/#/?age=26&fips=48015&metal_level=Silver

Tell us how this is hurting you.

lol, I remember that. Rethugs have made a sport out of fukkin with Obama. I just can't fukk with the centrist shyt, fukk playing nice with these primordial GOP apes they keep holding this country back.

That's fine, but I just don't agree with it being a business at all. It's like, if being an American is so great why can't we take care of each other. I'd have no problem paying more taxes for socialized health care, but some people are ignorant enough to believe universal health care means govt bureaucracy or politicians having their hands on their health care. As soon as somebody says "....have a choice." the GOP alarm goes off in my head. Honestly, I see what he's trying to do with this he wants ACA to be a precursor to SP but it justs leaves me to think if we couldn't do it then, I don't know where the political will is gonna come from to do it later. Especially if those premiums go up in 2015.

I'm in Maryland tho, so I think they got their own website. I know curiosity gon make me look eventually, I never even went to the website once since all this shyt started that's how salty I been since the PO/SP ain't come thru. :heh:

I don't mind paying more taxes for healthcare. I've been doing it all this time. :manny: I think it's weird how hospitals bill you for getting shot, stabbed, etc.

Or if you get cancer.

That same logic you're using though is why I don't really care about subsidizing people who are older and healthier than I am. It's the same reason why social security doesn't bother me. What bothers me is people's health being a business, but I mean, we already spend more on healthcare than any other nation on Earth. Single payer alone won't fix that. Part of it is how much basic services here cost as opposed to France and a lot of that has to do with the contracts these pharmaceutical companies get to develop (which make it harder to duplicate medicine--Europe basically jacks what we invented and sells it cheaper), and the fact that we spend a lot of money on services don't won't necessarily produce a better outcome (primarily rich people do this as doctors will tell you). Also, we have fewer hospitals bed per capita, and we limit the actual number of health professionals, etc. The PPACA tries to address some of these things, but it doesn't really address many of the following (lobbyists (including doctors) made sure of that and neither would single payer):

2013_09_HealthCareCosts5_0.png
2013_09_HealthCareCosts8_0.png

2013_09_HealthCareCosts7_3.png

These things are entrenched and the bigger fight is with pharmaceutical companies. Though, you might want to hop on that insurance breh because Maryland "all-payer" law looks legit. The two combined might help you out significantly. http://america.aljazeera.com/articl...rmodelasteptowardeuropeanstylehealthcare.html

Single Payer is a huge start tho, to me its the ideal system to have but we gotta improve our standards overall and focus on prevention so we're not ending up with all these sick people. But you're right, a lot of other things need to be cleaned up and that's more so a battle with big business owning our govt in general than just health care alone. But the argument is big pharma's incentive is the big profits and exclusive rights, if we do away with that how much does things change? Hopefully our generation strengthens the progressive base enough for us to clean things up.

Yeah I've heard about Maryland's law, the county my dad lives in has free health and dental I'm not sure if its the same where I am. If nothin else, a state single payer would be cool with me. I know DC has free healthcare for residents for sure, I've been thinkin of moving there anyway. :ehh:

all these charts or posts for fakkit liberal HL posters aint shyt.

fukk the charts

explain how its fair for a part time worker being paid 150-250 a week being required to pay 200-225 a month in healthcare or else eat a fine, that is gonna be MONSTROUS in 2016

fukk your fakkit charts, try to refute that thats not happening right now ( :mjlol: ) and then try to explain how thats not extortion.

another hl "buddy" liberal fakkit.

refute my analogy or shut your fakkit liberal ass up

the mafia forced people to pay for protection from the mafia

the affordable healthcare act is encouraging people to get health insurance because it's a smart thing to do. and if they don't they pay a small fine. not to mention health insurance is now cheaper, people get better coverage and insurance companies can't discriminate against people with preexisting conditions.

but im not gonna sit here and debate with your fox news bullshyt so again, kill yourself

that goes to all you fukk faces in here who have no idea what you're talking about
