I never thought he was, I thought he'd be able to mobilize his own party enough to bring some real changes. Blue dogs fukked it up in the end more than the GOP did, dude had a majority and still wanted to play nice with the GOP knowing damn well they wanted to sabotage everything he attempted to do. Not to mention it was Obama that ended up taking SP off the table without a fight and eventually the PO was doomed to not make it. I understand it wasn't just Obama at fault, but his pandering to Rethugs and willingness to go back on the things his campaigned on was a huge letdown. Honestly, I only voted in 2012 so Romney wouldn't get into office. From here on out if I do ever vote I'm choosing the most progressive candidates if I vote at all.

the problem was congress....youre right in that he couldnt get support from his own party...too many of them were more worried about staying in office instead of doing whats was right for the people...he had no choice but to drop SP...without support and votes it wasnt gonna pass...the version we have now barely got thru....

politics....meh

Me too, I need to figure out how to get dual citizenship in Canada.

Does that exempt you from NoBamaCare?

I'm pretty pissed about this dude...this whole plan relies on forcing fukking young people who likely wouldn't need to worry about it, to shell out for fukking insurance.

What does Obama say to the young artist who struggles to make ends meet?

What does he say to soon to be college graduates struggling to pay student loans, let alone insurance premiums?

It should have been single-payer or bust.

Insurance companies are fukking going to make a killing off this.

And it's here FOREVER. What a load of shyt. ANOTHER fukking bill we all have to pay every month. Why did people think that was responsible?

I'm spending $675 per month to cover myself, wife, and infant son. But I have my own business so I get it reimbursed as a medical expense. That's over $8000 a year brehs.

I remember hearing if you start the application by the 31st, you have until the 15th to finish.
I'm not liking these numbers I'm seeing and hearing so far.

I just quit my job two weeks ago to be a full time entrepreneur. The plans on healthcare.gov were expensive and the ones that were cheaper provided crap coverage. The problem is that the Amerikkkan people (white people) do not want to have a national healthcare system that is aligned with other western countries out of spite to screw over minorities, so we are left with this BS. I had to bite the bullet and at least get insurance for the rest of the year. I did a SILVER plan for healthcare and dental which is a little over $300 per month :why:
Once you start making some money in your own business then reimburse yourself the cost of the coverage as a business medical expense. Make sure your business paperwork is on point.

the irony of you calling my statement a straw man because of one sentence and then continuing to straw man this entire post reeks of ignorance. if you have no input please sit down.

we can argue all day about the fine and that's reasonable. personally, i think the raise in prices are pretty steep. $700 in 2016 is excessive (although there are exemptions).. ill be graduating then and probably will pay that if my job doesn't offer insurance :yeshrug: but the point of it is to get people signed up for health care, which is a good thing for the system. uninsured people getting hurt and sick strain the system and force the govt to cover their expenses. thats why there's a fine, it goes towards their own health care.

in the long term this will cause a massive drop in health care prices.

sometimes as a society we have to make sacrifices to better ourselves. im sure the generation that adopted sales tax wasn't too happy, but in the long run it ended up pretty helpful.

so their better off being uninsured? and then when they get sick the govt should just cover all their costs?
people gettin it confused. nikkas just go in and use emergency room as their primary care doctor fukkin up the game.

you dont just go to the doctor when youre blatantly sick, you also go to make sure you dont have something chronic creeping up on you that will end up costing you and the system even more because your getting treated for the later stages instead of preventing or slowing down the disease when it was first starting

Oh stop, I was able to stay on my parents healthcare plan until I was 26 because of Obamacare....I have coverage with my job, so maybe I'm bias..folks care more about their automobiles then their bodies. No one likes paying that high ass car insurance but you pay it..The body should also be a priority.
