I walked everyday in that big ass hot kitchen for 10 hrs straight...no break because I wanted the extra hour..then went home and did homework until 2..then woke up at 630 to walk to school, then practiced after school, then went to work everyday except Friday for game night..I did that for 3 years! You did it for 4 weeks and you broke like bytch

My shifts were 11.5 hours long. Plus the hour spent bussing it from the hood to the work. What you know about not having enough bus money and walking through hoods at 5:30 until you make it back to your own hood? :usure:

So that's 13 hours. Plus 6 hour sleep. I have 5 hours in my day left to go boxing. Where is the time for school in that?

Man, vocational school would be perfect for breh. Dude has a lot of energy and I'm sure if he had some focus he'd be on the right path.

I agree with that, basically in the UK there's a version of the GED (I think) so High School diploma, it's very basic but unlike in the USA you can't just go back and redo it, his school kicked him out at 16 so he never go it. He isn't into academics.

However I agree with you that a vocational or trade school would be a good idea, there's actually a guy I know who is abit like him (never into academics) but did a flooring course and now runs his own flooring business and hires people and stuff because he gets a lot of business, has like 4 flooring guys working for him now.

Possibly yo moms should learn a trade and flip it into his own business ? His end goal should be one where he manages and he has mini workers that he out sources for jobs ? I think that's attainable and possibly will give him the financial freedom and independence he wants.....

what you think ?

These old ass nikkas think its the 60s where it was impossible not to get a job :heh:

The 60s? I did this in 2001...Im only 28; and I'm done after this, but you would just attempt to try at some of the things me and Theraflu and others have suggested, then maybe shyt will change...until then, don't make anymore self-pity threads

How is this a self pity thread? :what: I don't pity myself. I feel myself because I'm quite good looking and good at sports.

Exactly, and there is so much room for expansion and growth. I think for young black men who aren't into classic school and academia, the next option should be a trade school.

If you work hard running your own business in your trade isn't unrealistic, there are many other ethnic minorities who capitalise heavily on trades when they are shunned by the corporate world.

what about medical and billing certficate?

Im thinking of getting one next year

if not, whats the best cert to get? just to get me off my feet

Those are always good choices. I'm looking at it from the perspective that it's a field that will never run out of opportunity, so you will always be able to find a job, not to mention that it's experience/certification that carries across America. I prefer an engineering certification, or electrican. The older we get, the more we become reliant on machines/technology, and they will always need electricity, that's literally golden field to get into imo. I'm into engineering, I saved up $700 and took the class and I'm good, never even went to a real college.
