I copped my first PJ back in like 2007 I think. Best decision I've ever made :ahh:

There's two big negatives, light control and lamp life. Unless you're in a light controlled room, the PQ isn't going to be that great. When I first got mine I was in an apartment and that was one of my major concerns. I just got some thick ass light blocking curtains from walmart and threw it up. First time I watched the Matrix I was like :blessed:

With the lamp, as the lamp ages, the brightness of the projector goes down. Depending on the model you got you can get a new lamp for 2-300 bucks. I'm still on the same lamp from when I bought the joint back in 07. Probably got close to 5000 hours on that bytch by now and it's still bright enough for me.

I'm getting a house end of this year, and depending on my financial situation I might just get a 4k projector. The good ones start at 20k, so I'm not really sure if I'm bout dat life :whoa:

Man trust me. Having 120" of of screen real estate is the best feeling in the world after having a bad ass bytch swallowing your kids

Just throw up some curtains and you good breh. Plus the bytches love it :whew:
4K is pretty amazing, but the technology is entirely too expensive and there is minimal support for the medium at this time. Copping a 1080p 3D projector is easily the smart move now, especially since their prices have fallen dramatically over the past few years.

You really cant go wrong with Epson projectors in my humble opinion. They have them at all price points, from $500 all the way to 20K. My unit cost me 3,000 but is easily better than the comparable alternatives for a standard TV.

Smart? Breh I'm not trying to be smart, I'm trying stunt :takedat:

If my situation is right, along with the 4k projector (Sony VW1000ES is what I'm looking at) I'm planning on copping some Bowers & Wilkins Diamond 803 speakers. I went to a show room and listened to em and was like :whew:

Damn son, what that budget look like? I built my home theater for around $25,000, and EVERYONE raves about my setup. I do have homeboys who have spent upwards of $50,000 though so you can definitely get as expensive as you like. When you set your shyt up, please post pics!

Ima def post pics. I'm doing it for the coli :salute:

I'm gonna have my basement fully converted into a theater. At the showroom I was at when I heard the B&W's they had their theater room setup dope as hell. They had the fiber optic ceiling lights, curved projector screen, and an anamorphic projector lens. On the real I'm just gonna bite they whole style cause it was dope as fukk.

Was 25 just on the equipment, or did you have construction done too? You must have a nice ass system if you dropped that on just the AV gear.

I lived the life of a broke person for far too long to ever drop $25,000 on a home theater. hell both my 55 in 3DTVs, all three game consoles, my GTX 780 4770K PC, my Yamaha advantage 5.1 setup all that stuff combined doesn't crack $7500 and its overkill for me.
