That song is from 1994. It's on the soundtrack to Street Fighter.
That was One on One breh, One Plus One is a different song from LP 96 album.
One on One was made for the Street Fighter Soundtrack and the theme of the lyrics reflect that, so would be a bit out of place on Illmatic.
On The Real was just after Illmatic though in 94, when he was planning on making his second album with only Marley Marl.
Deja Vu was also planned for his second album, as said in here, but would fit Illmatic nicely.
Wake Up Show Anthem was themed around that as well, but just shows how well Nas was ryhmin' in 94-96

In the Rotten Apple, take a bite, taste the worm
Embrace the world of reality we're faced to learn

Coke connection drug bust, graveyards where thugs rest
I keep my mug blessed, the evil is illegal substance sold
Roll mob deep, guns in the black Jeep
MAC-11's in Legends, cracks in the streets
Patroller, gold money-folder, gun happy soldiers
Never sober, takin' over,
my blood is colder
nikkas respect violence so I become it
I'm from it, I even done it blunted, so run it

Yall nas stans are fukking brutal man

You see “didnt sell” and have a coniption. Everyone in the world knows tye album eventually went platinum goofies.

Yall will use the bootleg excuse when it suits your point. Prolly hundreds of threads on here agreeing wit me that yhe bootleg had an impact on sales.

“But but but it did sell...”

You cant even grasp the fukkin conversation yet jump in with ya half cooked BS cuz you think i threw shade at ya hero. Suck his dikk in private and look up comprehension while ya at it stoopid.

Sale this sale that.
NONE of that was the point of the op you dumb fukk.
Sales had no relevancy to the angle of the thread.
But YOU took it there. I wonder why? To push YOUR narrative maybe?
Stan this stan that but YOU on his d.ick harder than errbody. Smh

N you thought you had a clever clapback. Foh

Naw I'm talking about how much it was bootlegged. It may have been bootlegged nearly as much, maybe more.

Aw hell yeah! I listened to BN bootleg weeks before I bought it but I still bought it and to me it bang just as hard. Same with Illmatic. Man I never get tired of that album!

I heard many storys about this situation and the latest one was on flex show with nore and fat joe.

I always wondered how comes nobody had the original illmatic up on youtube anywhere? Or is it floating around and I just never heard it?
I’m just going throw this out, Nas destroyed that first beat something awful. It’s ridiculous how much talent this man has.

Understanding should’ve been on Illmatic

Yes...dude was floating over that mister magic sample

850 Tempo but rugged like a Pinto
Chop shop hip-hop, burn the block intro
High priests release voodoo, déjà vu and this taboo
Illmatic shyt and what have you
Chef cocaine cook, no brain got the proper diction
My competition bleeds words and weed blurs my vision
I'm freezing in time, stop the rhyme
I'm sober in stolen Range Rover much crime
I, stick up America, Nas in your area
Disrupt the sound barrier, clowns get pounds of terror
A full whip for more clips then Clint has in his era
Dirty Harry, cold black the uncanny, of Kojak
A Beretta sticking up trucks carrying amaretto
Clever to entice 'em, herbs I'm micin' while I'm pricin'
nikkas like they're slaves, best behave I'm the nice one
Nas, broken down for Nasir, means protection
Pop Dukes, resurrection international hoes, I'm sexin'
Or you'll be fukking one section, question?
Does a lonely mic give me an erection?, yes, son
On a float like the Jetsons futuristic rappin' mystic
Bust it, try and diss while my finger is on the iron biscuit
I rhyme terrific sparklin' like the diamond district
It's understanding
