I thought the myth was the album was bootlegged prior to release meaning the actual album was bootlegged “found 40k copies in a garage in wueens” or some shyt.

Which is the excuse why it didnt sell. Nas stan reason anyway.

Why not just stfup when you have nothing to offer.
Well it's been 25 yrs n album still selling. Happy now.....Geesh

Sound sound sound
Flex was just talking jibberish...he said nas was struggling being a new superstar and was trying to follow the blueprint of puff and jay when this was happening...which definitely wasn’t the case whenillmatic dropped...he was talking. About the I AM album

Flex is awful as someone whose been in the mix of so many hip hop moments..he don’t be knowing shyt

Yall nas stans are fukking brutal man

You see “didnt sell” and have a coniption. Everyone in the world knows tye album eventually went platinum goofies.

Yall will use the bootleg excuse when it suits your point. Prolly hundreds of threads on here agreeing wit me that yhe bootleg had an impact on sales.

“But but but it did sell...”

You cant even grasp the fukkin conversation yet jump in with ya half cooked BS cuz you think i threw shade at ya hero. Suck his dikk in private and look up comprehension while ya at it stoopid.

I don't understand why people try to force Illmatic on people who didn't live in or near a housing project, or didn't have to ride public transportation often.
This album is the greatest thing ever to ME, but I don't think I'd care as much about a 1/3 of these songs if I didn't grow up how i did.

"One Plus One" is such a dope song, it should've been on Illmatic. One of Nas's best songs and near the top of the list of the Nas/Large Professor tracks.

One Plus One is dope and should’ve been added to one of the later Illmatic projects, IMO.

I don’t think Nas recorded much more for Illmatic. There was On the Real though. There were a few original and official studio remixes that came out a little afterwards like:

One love feat Sadat X
One Love LG remix
The World Is Yours (Q-Tip)
Life’s a bytch (Arsenal Remix)
It Ain’t Hard to Tell (remix)

You had the unreleased demo, I’m a Villian officially released.

Then you have
Memory Lane (Q-Tip remix) unreleased

Of course the homie Noah Uman uncovered a few more rare remixes that he put one the Illmatic XX re-release.

Now there is the Illmatic Live that I swear I wish there released a physical CD of.

That’s basically about it for Illmatic.
