People do, not as much as 10 years ago but they do. As long as there are cats who came out before and after 50 still getting platinum plaques, you can call a flop what it is. It's obvious that 50 is no longer in the same league as Eminem or Jay, he can no longer compete with them on any level, but what really has to kill him is he can't even compete with Drake or J Cole.as much as i want to shyt on g-unit...........

em and jay were around like 7 years before 50 though when file sharing an entire album was a dream.
drake and cole came up in the itunes era.
i swear 50 is in a weird place (and i'm probably considered a 50 hater tbh) but i feel like NO ONE from my generation (20-25) has bought more than like 5 albums since 2005 and i feel like we were a lot of the people who was on that G-UNIT shyt in 2004. itunes wasn't really big in that time at least not the itunes store and we could download shyt for free. i think they're a product of their time.

I think my favorite excuse so far is that it 'dropped out of nowhere' as if in 2014 you need to make some kind of crazy trek to a remote store to pick up a limited supply of albums. Ill completely leave out the fact Beyonce fans had no problem buying her album online 'out of nowhere'

That's my point entirely, Jay and Em were from a different era and are still selling platinum, and cats from the last 5 years like Drake are also selling platinum, and Cole is going Gold at least. People aren't buying like they used to, but if there are artists getting plaques, why is 50 exempt from being called the flop artist that he is today?

Look I completely agree with you that Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo are just as relevant as Lil Twist and Gudda Gudda.
cuz he is legit in between both categories. who from that era is selling albums? kanye i guess, but didn't COLE sell more albums than ye with NO PROMOTION last year? i swear it's a fukking era thing. 50 is in the lost era when we (his fans at the time) all had torrents/megaupload/limewire right after his first album. people i know from that era don't buy music. people who are a little younger than me i.e. my cousin 5 years younger than me... out here buying shyt on itunes like she can't get it for free.

it's actually funny you say that to me cuz i literally berried him on his last album sales. dispute what i said though. please do it. cuz i got cousins who are older than me that are basically deathly scared to illegally download shyt cuz they think they gonna get sued like napster and i gout cousins younger than me that just buy shyt off itunes. i swear there like 80% of the people born between 86 and 96 aka most of the people who are young adults and came up on 50 cent aren't on that buy an album shyt.The mental gymnastics.
