They not my favs. I'm chauvinistic but I give credit where credit is due. They didn't do ho babble rap. But then again at least for Salt n Pepa, a dude Herbie was writing their rhymes.
L Hill IMO no one was thinking she was a rapper. You never hear people talk about her with the Fugees. Her solo album was like 98% R and B and still is a classic today. I don't know any one bumping the rest in their cars. If you talking about a dance club, yeah we all danced to it to get on some ass. But riding around and listening to female rappers....nah.

Dudes doing revisionist history about previous era female rappers. Dudes very well were bumping Foxy, Kim, Eve, Gangsta Boo, La Chat, etc. They didn’t make “cute” music like a lot of current female rappers. They were getting fire beats that could’ve easily been given to the men on the same label.
